I'm about to start my first full day of development. Seems like it could be useful to have some tunes ready so I built up a playlist over the past while. It's an eclectic list filled with spoilers and some weird picks which mostly just remind me of specific games or moments. Some of these play at extremely important points in their respective games so you might not want to listen. Either way I figured I might as well share it. I don't have the best memory so maybe this playlist will help me keep some things in mind, that's the theory at least. Nothing else for now, I'll see you again at the end of the month.

Nice, this'll make work a little less dull today, looking forward to seeing what's in there. Good luck with the deving.

Primo taste with the Ace Combat and Mechanicus choices

Dylan Robinson

Best of luck to you, Matthew. Mother 3 is an excellent choice, just watch about the tears if they descend upon your keyboard!

I have a sci-fi music playlist and those Metroid prime songs are near the top. Such great music. The second Bayo song you have listed there is also one of my favorites from any action game. I feel like MGR and Nier get most of the spotlight when it comes to music in Plat games but Bayo, W101, and Astral Chain all have amazing soundtracks too. Honestly I felt like Vanquish is the only Plat game I played where I didn’t love the soundtrack. Anyways, hope you get off to a good start!

It is so damn cool that you're turning learning game development; I started almost exactly a year ago and have been working on my first real project for about 10 months! (won't be offended if you don't care: https://twitter.com/BarryHerbers/status/1359322421694717962?s=20) I cannot f*cking wait to see what you put together! You've got such a strong mind for analyzing simple, elegant design, and I am 1000% happy to continue donating. I've honestly been hoping you'd go this route for a while. Your videos have been a place of catharsis and inspiration for me for about 8 years now. It's quite bitter-sweet to watch my favorite YouTube channel (maybe) come to a close, but if you can make it work, I have no doubt that independent game development is where you're meant to be. I'm sure you won't be working on your dream projects for many years (if ever), but I'm already looking forward to the day your affinity for elegant mechanical spaces and subtly powerful world building combine in an original work of art :)

Great stuff, I need a mix up in my music. Very pleased at Drawcia making the cut

I'll reiterate what others have said before... If you need any help, don't hesitate in reaching out! I for one offer you a helping hand with any of those pesky, repetitive, mechanical tasks that might come from time to time in a completely neutral and nonjudgmental way! If you need someone to just chip away some technical task, please tell me! I have no formal experience in game development per se, but over the years dabbed professionally quite a lot of related skills like 3d modelling, animation, c++ and js programming, image editing and that sort of things. For the way you express, I feel like it might be difficult for you to just accept help in your personal endeavors, so I'll only tell you that I'm eager to help make a matthewmatosis game a reality! And remember that some times, all you need is a second pair of eyes to find the solution to a small problem.
