Level 02 sneak peek : the cafeteria (Patreon)

Hey everyone,
Today, I wanted to show you a bit around the next level, starting with what will be a central and a rest place, the cafeteria.
The idea behind this part of the level, is that you'll pass near or through it multiple time during your adventure. It will be a safe place, because at the time of your visit it's closed and no staff is around. This mean you're free to go around and steal some food if you need to replenish!
I really like this big and luminous area,filled with colorful stuff. I still need to add some details, of course, but the idea is that you feel safe within the area. It's a rest place, with some easter eggs and little stuff to find if you're curious.
The main challenge is to still make sure you feel like it's still an hospital (something that will get even harder in some others areas) while still providing variety. I can't just go and make the entire level white corridor filled with hospital stuff. So,I tried to imagine what you would find in an hospital, and every single one would need a cafetaria for the staff, right?
Even though this door seems a bit out of place...I wonder what's behind? Let's find out a next time !
As always, I'm curious about your input. What do you think about it? Should a themed level always match closely the theme, or should the game feel and variety prevail? Don't hesitate to let me know !
