I didn't read the original source but I think he got that power for completing the test in that first dungeon 🤔

Don't think this is spoiler but to clarify so far. He earned his leveling system by clearing the hidden dungeon. although other players survived because they made it out alive he was the only one who stayed until the timer ran out and was technically alive to cleared the hidden condition to become a player, which is why he was rewarded with his system. Although his system provided him with game like features such as quest, rewards, stat points, etc it is all real from his perspective not some transportation into a game like i believe u guys are thinking.

2024-01-22 06:15:17 i dont think its anything behind the scene or a simulation, it was stated he passed some kind of quest when he survived that temple dungeon, it said he then qualified to become a player, so it 'unlocked' a stat and skill line of sorts for surviving that temple, which it seems is a very unique case

I'm so glad you guys are reacting to Solo Leveling! I finished the manhwa recently and it's so good! The art is incredible and the story too despite it's straightforwardness had some twists that I didn't predict at all, and the MC is just epic. The anime is doing it justice so far with very minor directional changes but overall sticking to the original story which I love. I really hope they will animate the whole manhwa but that's not for sure yet, regardless I hope you guys enjoy this show cos there's a lot more to come from now on, but of course no spoilers! :D Also it's interesting that the crunchyroll Japanese dub kept their original Korean names while Netflix dub where I watch has their names in Japanese, so I got confused for a bit lol.
