TChang23

I’ll never get tired of watching reactions to this masterpiece

John Pardue

it definitely is a more noobish reaction, but still pretty enjoyable lol. And its cool to see such a stark showcase of how much better you guys have gotten at this! Next stop 300,000 subs

Lauraa Rodríguez

aww I loved your reaction to this movie! teared up with Carlie and felt so much joy in Ange's stab to the notebook LOL Are we going to get Your Name's reaction as well??

MADHOUSE

It’s been a minute since I’ve seen your reaction to this, back when Golden Jelly tiers had monthly movie nights. Good times. Might rewatch it just for the heck of it whenever I have time 😁 never knew who your editors are, so shout out to Filip

Martina

so grateful you released this to everyone 🙏

Ordinary Guy

This brings back for when Golden Jellies only had monthly movie polls. Back then you only had like how many patreons but look at you now! You got ZAZ 🤣🤣🤣

Mango

I cry every single time I watch this. I know this edit shows subs but did you watch this dubbed or subbed?

Luís

The first time I saw those crosses on people's face it teared me down. There was a time in my life where I had some intense anxiety around people. I can still clearly remember the images of looking at people's chests and hips (or even the ground cause I didn't want girls to think I was staring at their bodies). I just couldn't allow myself to look people in the eyes, no chance of connection, no chance of screwing things up. Those X's were a brilliant representation of this type of anxiety. This movie should be mandatory in school, so much great lessons.

Martina

the biggest difference in this reaction compared to new ones is that you seem much quieter haha. and I miss the discussions :(

Tom thom

Why is this so relatable. Atleast all the other akward kids I knew, grew up to become good people.

Vero The Geto Lover

Omg, finally! When I started watching your videos I searched for this reaction but couldn't find it, so I thought that you never reacted to it and I was waiting for that moment since!

Elli

This was a great reaction! I miss the discussion but so it goes. Just love anything I can get from y'all

Haikyuu and a silent voice in one day? Ooh

JN

Oh shit, I didn't realize you two already seen this so long ago. I thought Violet Evergarden was your first Kyoto Animation production. Pleasant surprise. ---- Anyways, for movie suggestions... I recommend two TIMELESS classics: - Lupin III: Castle of Cagliostro (1979) - Laputa: Castle in the Sky (1986) Both are directed by Hayao Miyazaki, world renowned and world famous, and the main director of Studio Ghibli. Lupin III is a HUGE cultural icon in Japan, being older than Dragon Ball, and still getting new series to this day. In Japan, Lupin III is like a decades long staple Saturday morning cartoon, like the Simpsons. But this movie isn't just a run-of-the-mill Saturday morning cartoon. "Castle in the Sky" is also an incredible movie. Probably one of the original and main reasons why Studio Ghibli are so highly regarded. --- Apart from those two, "The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya" is absolutely incredible and rewarding IMO as well, but you'd have to watch the series first to grasp the story. It was Kyoto Animation's first feature film, and they delivered. In 2006, "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya" TV series put Kyoto Animation on the map, going viral everywhere in the anime world at the time, and for many years to come. Haruhi Suzumiya became a huge huge name, selling so much merchandise and idol concerts all over, and it shook up the slice-of-life genre and anime industry. The TV series has its fans and detractors, very polarizing show, which is why I'm a bit hesitant at recommending the movie sequel; it's a character-driven story, and if you don't click with the characters, would it really be something yu'd want to sink your time into? But I'm throwing this movie in there because it's a household name, it was handled by Kyoto Animation, and the movie is IMO INCREDIBLE.

Carlie & Ange

We wouldve added the discussion to this video but it was very much directed at the Patreon members so it’d be a bit awkward on youtube!

Khalayx

I've never seen Lupin III and always debate watching it, since Miyazaki is one of the two GOATs* as far as I'm concerned. But he has other movies I haven't watched yet either, plus I remember trying the tv series and it not doing anything for me. Haruhi was definitely a favorite of mine all the way back when it aired. Hah, I think you would open a whole can of worms with the viewing order debates though. I only ever watched broadcast order and feel like I would not like the show nearly as well chronologically, but I hear that has fallen out of favor. ------- *Miyazaki best animator of all time for children, Satoshi Kon best animator for adults of all time. If anyone disagrees feel free to tell me who I'm missing. Also Paprika would be a fun reaction now that I'm thinking of it.

Carlie & Ange

Y’all remember the monthly movie polls 🥹🫶🏼 Also, I’m VERY pleased ‘zaz’ is catching on 😏

Mango

Aww man… well that’s a bummer. Would be cool if you re-watch it in sub, off-camera is fine. I just want you to experience it subbed. It really hits different :,)

Anonymous

tbh i recommend anything thats made by Ghibli but would love to see you two react to Princess Mononoke or Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind c:

JN

Yeah the watch order is something I forgot about. I'm leaning toward chronological order but to grasp the uniqueness of what made the series, broadcast order is a good option as well. For Lupin III, I do not really recommend watching the older series unless you're just a completionist / collector / hobbyist who wants to see everything. It's not that good, and a huge time sink. The original series are not bad, but not great. Some great moments and episodes in Lupin III S2, but that's 137 or so episodes; very plain Saturday morning cartoon vibes otherwise, like Scooby-Doo. Definitely a much better ROI on time and enjoyment if you watch Castle of Cagliostro. Highly recommend, you don't know what you're missing out.

MADHOUSE

I always remembered Ange breaking his pen against a notebook, but couldn't recall from what reaction. So far, the object casualties were a pen and a tissue box from A Silent Voice and Haikyu, respectively. Wonder what the next show will be that will make Ange want to break something 😂

Anonymous

I also agree, you should react to Grave of Fireflies if you haven't already.

Karan Reddy

I know this is off topic. But who reckons Carlie and Ange should venture into do music / album reactions. Would be cool to get their perspective on rappers, singers, albums etc

Martin Roca

I can't find full lenght

ZZ

21:42 when she said I love you, he did hear her, but the thing is he thought she was talking about the moon because the word (like/love) sound similar to "the moon" in Japanese ***"I love you"/ "the moon looks pretty", they sounds similar.
