Lots of people hate her or don't like her because she acts "too motherly" or acts as if she was more mature than everyone else (which in most cases she is). Refreshing. This show is a good example of how cartoons can in fact handle more mature content. Like the effects of war, which we see with the Air Temple. Or in this particular episode sexist stereotypes get broken as Sokka gets humbled.
