Hello fellow Pipers!

This week, I'd like to talk about rough recording and pitching in the diary.

Last week, we finished the thumbnail work for the musical scenes. So, this week's goal was to tidy up ambiguous directing and delve into sketching. However, despite organizing the thumbnails, there were still some directing aspects that didn't feel right to me. So I decided to examine the overall context of the video first. Musical scenes are the highlights of the entire animation. Even if we detail them beforehand, if the content before and after isn't smoothly connected, It'll need to be revised. So, I refined the script further and recorded my voice to aid this process.

Interestingly, in actual animation studios, storyboard artists also record their voices to create animatics. The approach might slightly vary across studios, but it's a fascinating process used to turn drawings into a video format before hiring voice actors. It may not be professional acting, but it adds a charming touch to make the animation more animated!

Apart from animatics, there's something called 'pitching,' which is used to share with colleagues the storyboard before animatics. Watching pitching videos by experienced pros is exciting because even through pictures, the video feels vivid in the mind!

Pitching is one of the reasons why I love storyboards, yet it's also a challenging area due to my limited experience. I'd love to take acting classes someday to excel in this field more! 😊

As of today, the entire video's recording and editing are completed! The overall workload is quite substantial, so for now, I'll organize the thumbnails for scenes other than the musical part and then proceed to create an animatic.

Ideally, by January 4th, finishing the thumbnail modifications and completing the animatic sketch for the musical part is the goal! And... Balancing upcoming holidays and work is essential, isn't it? 😁 I won't forget that one too.

안녕하세요 동료 파이퍼 여러분!

이번주 다이어리에서는 가녹음과 피칭에 대해 이야기해보려고합니다.

지난주에는 뮤지컬 장면의 썸네일 작업을 마무리했었죠. 그래서 이번주에는 애매한 연출들을 정리하고 스케치를 들어가는 것이 목표였습니다. 하지만 아무리 썸네일을 정리해도 마음으로 와닿지 않는 연출이 있어 고민이었어요. 그래서 영상의 전체 맥락을 먼저 살펴야겠다고 판단했습니다. 뮤지컬장면은 전체 애니메이션의 하이라이트 장면이기에, 미리 디테일하게 만들어둬도 앞 뒤의 내용이 잘 연결되지 않으면 다시 고쳐야하니까요. 그러기 위해서 대본을 더 다듬고 직접 목소리를 녹음해보았습니다.

재미있는 점은, 실제 애니메이션 스튜디오에서도 스토리보더가 직접 목소리를 녹음해서 애니메틱을 만든다는 점이에요. 스튜디오마다 조금씩 순서나 방법에는 차이가 있지만, 성우를 고용하기 이전에 그림들을 영상의 형태로 만들기 위해서 사용되는 방식이에요. 비록 프로같은 연기는 아니지만, 애니메이션을 더 애니메이션 처럼 만들어주는 매력적인 과정이죠!

애니메틱이 아닌 스토리보드, 그림상태에서 동료들에게 공유하기위해서는 '피칭'이라는 것을 하기도 하는데요, 경력이 많은 프로분들의 피칭 영상을 보면 그림만으로도 영상이 상상이 되어서 참 재미있어요!

피칭은 스토리보드를 좋아하는 이유중 하나이기도 한데 아직 경험이 적어서 어려운 분야이기도 합니다. 언젠가 연기 수업같은것도 들어보면서 더 잘해내고싶네요😊

오늘부로 전체 영상의 가녹음과 편집이 완료되었어요!  전체분량을 따지자면 꽤나 양이 많아서, 일단 뮤지컬이 아닌 장면들의 썸네일을 먼저 정리해놓고 애니메틱으로 제작해보려고해요.

되도록이면 1월 4일, 썸네일 수정을 마치고 뮤지컬파트 애니메틱 스케치를 완성하는 것이 목표입니다!

다가오는 연휴와 업무의 밸런스를 잘 챙기면서 말이죠😁
