Hello, Fellow Pipers! It's Rambu!

I want to share an interesting story with you this week. Recently, I was looking for good references to enhance our production. That's when I stumbled upon Studio Ghibli's famous work, 'Howl's Moving Castle.' It was a film I watched more than ten times in my childhood, but as I grew up, only certain scenes stuck in my memory.

I was initially searching for scenes involving magic and characters flying in the air. However, I discovered an unexpected fact. The overall design output of 'The Pied Piper' surprisingly resembled 'Howl's Moving Castle'! I had never thought of using it as a reference before.

The characters' hairstyles, clothes, personalities, and even the historical period (19th century) seemed to have influenced our work. It was astonishing because everything I had decided, thinking, 'I should create it my way!' seemed to have already appeared in this film. Particularly, when creating Dowson (Wendy's character), I felt this strong intuition that she had to have braided hair, but I couldn't logically explain why. It turns out this vague feeling and sense came from my childhood experiences! It was truly fascinating.

I think repeatedly watching good movies and storing them in your memory greatly helps in creating art. It not only provides good references but also shapes your taste, forming your identity as an artist.

๐Ÿ‘‰

Besides this interesting story, there's bad news this week. ๐Ÿ˜žWe didn't pass the evaluation for the animation support project. It might become a slightly longer and tougher journey than expected. However, within this process, there's a lot to learn, right? ๐Ÿ˜Š

I plan to solidify our work and projects for the future. Even if challenges come our way, completing the project is a certainty!

I'll push through to the end! Thank you always for your support, everyone!! ๐Ÿ”ฅ

It is fascinating to see how childhood experiences as casual as liking certain movies can shape your work as an artist! I'm sorry the support project didn't work out, I'm sure that even if it's challenging, you'll pull through with an amazing work of art.

It is really fascinating right? XD Thank you for the kind words Saso. You and pipers friends are the main reason I can keep going on. And your comment means a lot. ๐Ÿฅบ
