📝Pipers Production Diary 23/10/05 (Patreon)

Hello Fellow Pipers!

Recently, I heard something like this: "Completing a piece of work might be a big deal for oneself, but it doesn't dramatically change life." I felt really sad hearing that because I've been through something similar. It happened during my sophomore year in college. I spent nights in the studio working on a stop-motion animation project. I poured my heart and soul into it, but in the end, it didn't bring laughter to anyone, didn't get a chance to be widely seen, and just faded into memory.

But there was something I overlooked back then. I didn't think about 'how to present it,' only about 'how to create it.'

There's a line in a book called '革命のファンファ-レ 現代のお金と廣告' by Akkihiro Nishino, a Japanese animation director and comedian. It goes, "The path of creation includes finding a way for the work to reach the audience." In other words, it's not just about making something well; it's more important to find a way to show it effectively.

From now on, I want to put effort not only into creating works but also into finding ways for these creations to reach many people. I plan to simultaneously create short-form content for Piper's that can reach a wider audience. I'll be searching for a schedule that doesn't compromise my health too much!

I hope that the time we've spent together doesn't just fade away. I hope Piper's can bring joy and inspiration to many more people.

As of today, Piper's music is almost completed. Next time, I'll be sharing the animatics. Now, it's just... bringing the characters to life with voices! It would have been impossible without all of you.

안녕하세요 동료 파이퍼즈 여러분!

얼마전에 이런 이야기를 들었어요. '작품 하나를 완성하는건 나 자신에게는 큰 일이지만, 그것을 한다고 해서 뭔가 극적으로 삶이 바뀌지는 않는다'고. 저는 그 말을 듣고 마음이 아팠어요.

저도 비슷한 일을 겪었거든요. 대학교 2학년때 였어요. 스톱모션 애니메이션 작품을 만들기 위해 1주동안 촬영실에서 밤을 꼬박 샜어요. 겨울 패딩위에서 쭈그려 30분 눈을 붙이며 완성한 영상이었지만,  결국 그 누구에게 웃음을 선사할수도, 널리 보여질 기회도 받지 못했하고 기억에서 사라졌어요.

하지만 그때의 저는 간과한게 있었어요. 바로 '어떻게 만들지'는 고민하며 그 답을 찾았지만, '어떻게 보여줄지'에 대해서는 생각을 하지 않았던거지요.

니시노 아키히로라는 일본의 애니메이션 감독이자 코미디언이 쓴 '혁명의 팡파르'라는 책에는 이런 구절이 있습니다. '창작의 길은 관객에게 작품이 도달하는 길을 그리는 것까지 포함한다'라고 말이죠. 즉 잘 만드는 것도 중요하지만, 잘 보여줄 방법을 찾는건 더 중요하다는걸 깨달았어요.

그리고 저는 이제부턴 작품을 만드는 길 뿐만아니라 많은 사람들에게 닿을 수 있는 길을 함께 그리는 노력을 하고자 합니다.  앞으로는 작품 제작과 더불어 파이퍼즈를 널리 알리는 숏폼 컨텐츠들을 동시 제작해보려고 해요. 최대한 건강을 헤치지 않는 스케쥴을 천천히 찾으면서 말이죠!

여러분과 함께 작품을 키워온 이 시간들이 그냥 사라져버리지 않도록, 파이퍼즈가 더 많은 사람들에게 전달되어서 모두에게 즐거움과 감동을 드릴 수 있었으면 좋겠어요.

오늘부로 파이퍼즈의 음원이 거진 완성되었어요. 다음번에는 애니메틱을 공유드리게 될 것같아요. 이제는 정말... 목소리와 함께 캐릭터들이 살아움직이는 일만 남았네요!  분명 여러분이 없었다면 불가능했을거에요.
