πPipers Production Diary 23/08/03 (Patreon)

Hello, fellow Pipers! It's Rambu hereπ
Have you ever spent your day without achieving your daily plans? Well, that's exactly how my week went. Because I couldn't keep the promise I made last time.
We talked about sharing references and creating the same images in our minds on the last post, right? And the plan was to analyze references, write lyrics, and draw thumbnails to share with everyone. But during this week's meeting, we realized that we needed more brainstorming sessions to decide on the song lyrics. So, analyzing references for better lyrics took longer than we thought. Eventually, I couldn't finish the rest of the tasks.π
I know there is no such thing as perfect plans, but it's frustrating when things take longer than expected. Especially in creative work, where many trials and errors are necessary.
But looking at the stories of successful people, they manage to get things done even in difficult situations. I started to wonder, what their secret is? Is there a special way to make good plans?
Following this question, this week, I want to talk about "how to make plans more sticky."
π€
So I'm starting to look back to my previous plans and schedules method. I tend to turn actions into habits when planning. By setting aside the same time every day to automatically do what I want to learn, my skills improve without conscious effort. It worked well when I was studying art and directing, so I thought it would work this time too. However, for some reason, writing the script and lyrics didn't become a part of my daily routine, even after repeating it. It felt like something unfamiliar intruding into my daily life. Then, I read the book "Atomic Habit" by James Clear and found the reason.
β
"Habits are created when we repeatedly do things that are possible with our current abilities."
For me, writing is more challenging than drawing, so it didn't become a habit that I could do easily. I didn't realize that I was making difficult plans without recognizing the importance of forming habits.
So, this week, I want to make a slightly different promise.
Every day at 11 AM, after lunch, I'll "πopen the red color notebook" in front my desk.
And that will be my working habit. With this habit, I aim to share a PDF of the lyrics by August 10th.
Oh, during this week's meeting, we also tested the narration demo to estimate the length of the video. Hearing Pipers with music and sound was more fun and exciting than I expected! It made me realize that I want to continue enjoying new learning experiences and stay in this creative journey for a long, long time. π
I wish I could share the completed work with you all soon!
Thank you for always supporting me guys. Stay cool in the heat and have a wonderful day!
