I am currently working on the chapter with Phenex meeting Eddard Stark and while I thought it would go rather harmonious, I surprisingly discovered that I have no love for the Quiet Wolf.

I know he is often protrayed as a great and honorable man, but after looking closely at all he has done than I can't help but think less and less of him.

The simple fact that he let his wife torment Jon while growing up, just because he felt guilt about his lie to her, it a major stain on his character.

The series doesn't show it that much, but Catelyn is a absolutely venomous woman who has no problem taking her anger out on an innocent child.

Another thing is that he is often called the honorbale fool for his ideal by Robert and I assume others, and I can't say how fitting I find this title.

Because while I did love the scene of him as Robert's Hand denouncing The Mountain and calling Tywin Lanninster to court, this move wasn't brave, honorable or smart in any way. It was just incredibly foolish.

I mean he was just ambushed in the streets of King's Landing, most of his guards are dead and he has still not figured out that not only himself but also his daughters are in danger because of his actions. Yeah, he is a fool.

This also made me curious about how popular of a character he really is. So here my question for you: Are you a fan of his? Or maybe you are not?
