Thank you all for being the first ones to encourage this new project of ours! It's truly appreciated. Here's the first early episode release. Expect a new one every 7 days before everyone else. This week we dive into a long debated discussion, and throw our 2 cents at it. Wait. There's three of us so it's more like 6 cents.

Thank you again for your support,

Yugo, JT and Hakim

Andrea

I am, as usual in every aspect of my life, very late with my comment. No, it has nothing to do with the fact that I'm Italian (for those unaware of the stereotype, we are notoriously always late). Anyway. Regarding the "market socialism" section, I only wanted to add something to the discussion, which I think is quite important, especially to explain the position so many American socialists take. And that is that IF there is ONE place where market socialism COULD in reality really work, that is precisely the US. The point I am trying to make is not one of "because they are so much better at doing things", nor "because their productive system is more advanced", or even of some sylicon Valley techy propaganda about AI or stuff. Market socialism could theoretically work in the US only because of the so-called "exorbitant privilege" (there is also a Wikipedia page about it!) that the US exploits on the rest of the world. That privilege relates to the capacity to basically enjoy an endless amount of debt by creating money out of thin air. The theory is much more complex than this, but it basically means that the US can continue to create debt (and also transform that debt into a financial asset) that will never cause bankruptcy to the US super-state, while at the same time forcing the rest of the world to pay some sort of rent to the US. So, if coops in an hypothetical post revolution, market socialist USA, get file for bankruptcy, the Fed could easily and endlessly bail them out. There is a catch though: they would be able to do this only if they maintain their imperialist and exploitative position on the rest of the world. So there you go, you created an imperialist oppressive socialist market economy. And I think those who think they can make the US a market socialist economy, do that because they see the US government is actually doing the same thing with "crony capitalist" corporations. So their thinking goes "why not in a socialist way"? Well, because, again, this is possible only due to the exorbitant privilege and imperialist thing.
