In Sweden a child birth wold cost you 80skr/day (~8$) and your paying only for food- 3 meals a day + snacks in between. Regardless of what how much care you need. Then you have 420 days paid leave +1250skr (~125$) per month in child support and until the child is 16 you can be at home with the child if they are sick. And you get paid as if you self was sick.

I was debating whether I should become a patron, then I listened to Hakim's commentary on maternal healthcare and I knew I had to subscribe. One of the first things that encouraged me to learn more about socialism was my mom (a midwife) telling me about the Cuban model of healthcare vs how the US treats mothers & pregnant women.
