happy birthday ant !! for clarification abt the battery thing . the dad took it out of the radio so he didn't kill it by using it too much or else he'd have lost all the memories of his wife coming to his son's home everyday . the memories are stored there by touch, that's why it showed that little scene when the son touched his keypad of his mother unlocking it before he was there and how he knew she stopped by with food when he called her . and lastly, his mother was just sick .

and also i'm gonna guess that the reason he told his dad to mix the battery with his was bcs of the battery life . he must have had it in his keypad for a while and yk when you mix almost dead batteries with newer ones it always seems like it makes the lifespan longer .
