What's good! Here is our uncut reaction to the first episode of Percy Jackson with Carianna. I also have more of these coming and potentially may be having the full group on the upcoming episode if everyones schedule aligns.

Carrianna is back and she’s a Percy fan too. I do agree that Sally took way too long in the forest to say goodbye but she made us invested in her. I think that’s better than her being a throw away character from the movies. I can’t wait to see more of your reactions.

I think you're noticing a lot of the archetypes of fantasy stories. The chosen one. The isolated/loner/bullied background. The "orphan" or unknown parentage. The coming into unexpected powers. All very common in the most known fantasy stories which then have their own specific twists etc. LOTR is the blueprint pretty much for most fantasy archetypes.

Some university classes are great for this stuff. I took a fantasy fiction class (Eye of the World (WOT)) was one of the books we had to read as well as The Hobbit, and the themes for a lot of fantasy are similar and many are inspired by LOTR. I also took Classical studies (Greek and Roman mythology) so this series is insanely up my alley. I can’t wait for the rest!

The casting and special fx are so on point ✨✨✨ Fun fact: they filmed on a Volume set (like in The Mandalorian, HotD) - first one built in Canada.
