May the Star Wars journey begin!!! On May 4th we checked out the 1st Star Wars movie to come out. We will be watching them in release order by the way!

😆😆 Right from the get you two learn that Stormtrooper aim….does not exist. The guy that wore the Vader costume was 6’6” (RIP). These reactions are gonna be so good!

Cause I geek out on production facts, sharing some I think are interesting… George Lucas was inspired to write Star Wars after reading the Dune novels which came out in the 60s. Anthony Daniels (actor who plays c-3po) would take off parts of the costume during breaks while filming on location in the hot as heck Jordan dessert, but the crew would sometimes FORGET that Kenny Baker (actor who played R2d2) was inside his, he would be stuck in there until someone remembered to let him out. Some of the R2d2s were simple robots but others were him inside. They eventually hired someone who’s job was to take care of him…Can you even imagine?! Wondering if you guys noticed any of the modern CGI enhancements that were made to the original film? When they rereleased these after the prequels came out in the 2000s, George Lucas was excited to have the ability add things that just weren’t possible to do when these were originally made. Always fun watching with you guys. ☺️

You can definitely see the age in the film but I think a lot of the practical FX attempts are well done and probably still used today.

Excited for the Star Wars journey, the movies and shows are amazing. Also glad you're going by release order you will definitely see the progression in filming and technology over the years.

Now you guys should watch "Scene 38 Reimagined" on YouTube. A group of effects guys redid the fight between Vader & Obiwan. It's beyond amazing! Actually, now that I think about it, you should wait until after Empire Strikes Back to avoid spoilers. 😬
