You are going to be so surprised when "The Work" is finally revealed.

Apparently the show is really good at integrating various short stories written by the same authors in addition to novels which build the main series. One of such stories will be about Amos and is very rewarding. The Martian marines are close to Jupiter which has over 50 moons, With the Epstein drive humanity really colonised the Solar System and Ganymede offers something very useful in the outer planets - its own magnetosphere. Wes Chatham (Amos), who served in the US military, runs a podcast together with one of the writers of the books - Ty Franck and they both admitted several times that the entire team was still learning and sometimes mistakes still happened in initial 2 seasons. One of those was still a disconnect between special effect team and the acting team i.e. in this episode there really should be more cover on Ganymede where the Martian marines were deploying to repulse 'UNN attack', but not many people from film making understand how soldiers fight in real life. During the series the cooperation between various parts of the team and the cast was getting better and better - everybody was learning how to use various tools more efficiently and even invented some for the show. It is simply amazing in some episodes e.g. in one in season 5 there is a realtively short scene which might be the space battle with the best, most accurate special effects on screen EVER. There are even tiny details lasting less than a second which are still there because that would happen in real life with this technology. Enjoying your speculations as always. Take care!

Strap in; it's just beginning. As crazy as it sounds, season 1 was the "awkward first season" and season 2 is where they find their groove. Every season is better until it hits consistent 100% reviews on Rotten Tomatoes. It then stays there until they end the series.

I always giggle at that line when Fred tells Holden, "I get the feeling you're not being straight with me." I imagine there's a blooper reel somewhere with Steven Strait responding, "No, right now I'm being Holden." It's the little things.

Weaving the Drive novella into this episode is unexpected but perfect.

Yeah, I read the books before the show, and I didn't care how they broke it up. The fact they were making it was enough.

Eldon

Avasarala's "I will rain down hellfire" speech is epic, and one of my favorite moments in the entire series. (Shoreh ... she's an artist.) And remember: the character Avasarala was an Earth-first politician that casually tortured belters and then went for drinks. At the end of that scene, Errinwright had to change his knickers.

Moon of Jupiter. Venus has no moons.

Quark's Bar

You need a good telescope, but they say you can still see Epstein out there, a century later, speeding further and further away from the system.

Nerdy pretty much summed it up, but I have to agree, one of the coolest things about the Expanse is that it's a look at how characters react when their own hard scifi/magic system crosses paths with a soft scifi/magic system. Great stuff.
