Hey all, Ryan here again. Expect more posts. I love talking directly to you all in a large fashion like this. Reminds me of blogging, which I used to do frequently. I stopped because I was a nobody and no one was reading. So this totally works out well.

So if you hadn't noticed, the 'Ryan on Gaming' topic this week covered Kojima's separation from Konami, and his partnership with Sony. I was up until 5AM making that video. When I finally finished, I started the upload, and went straight to bed. I wake up just a few hours later at 11 AM ready for work, only to find this email in my inbox.

It's a real warm feeling knowing the video you stayed up late for, and is completely legal, is now for naught. Just because of YouTube's broken ID system, and Konami's constant arrogance as a game publisher that just "doesn't get it". The good news is that I was actually able to remove the video, edit out the part that was causing trouble, and re-upload in time before work, and before the video went live to you all.

However, the above scenario doesn't happen every time. And I have plenty of videos that are claimed right now as we speak, taking away the revenue that should go to me. It sounds like I'm bitching, and obviously no one would be happy about such a situation, but it's just to give you all an idea of how much a slap in the face this stuff can be sometimes. Especially when you have every right to earn such revenue. (My videos would fall under fair use, teaching, or criticism/journalism).

Be that as it may, this also shows just how shitty Konami has gotten. Although I will say this isn't particularly surprising given how there are plenty of developers who do this. Some of them don't even enforce these and it's simply YouTube's ID system going overboard. It's one big cluster fuck. A fuck cluster if you will.

The best thing you can do is brush it aside, move on, and keep doing what you love. It's only 1 video, and I have hundreds more that earn me some dollars here and there. Hopefully you all appreciate the insight. Because even if you don't, I'll keep writing this 'behind the scenes' stuff. It's fun and it keeps me busy. Now the real question, what game do I play next? Minecraft: Story Mode? GTA: Vice City? Until Dawn? Need for Speed?

Too many games. What a wonderful problem to have.

I wouldn't mind a Minecraft survival lp, but Vice City sounds great as well! Keep up the great work Ryan! Don't let this get you down!

Vice City would be great :)

Been consumed by Far Cry 4 recently, forgot how fun it is to just clown around in that world. To your game list, I would go for Until Dawn, sleeper hit of the year for me. Soo good :)
