Because of her implied inexperience with relationships in general, I think Scorpia would probably have some trouble differentiating between platonic and non-platonic feelings and think it's just a best friend thing to find your girl friend really beautiful and wanna hold hands (pincers?) and kiss her and stuff. Just being besties!

Idk if this is an unpopular opinion, but Scorpia’s pushiness in this episode really bothers me. And like her getting jealous over Adora’s connection with Catra when those two were best friends since they were toddlers. Not sure if this is a common demisexual thing or if it’s just a me thing, but I get really uncomfortable when it seems like someone I’m not interested in has feelings for me, and I never know how to act. It’s given me really bad anxiety sometimes. Don’t get me wrong, Scorpia grows on me eventually, but in these first few seasons she makes me uncomfortable. Especially when she forces hugs on Catra. Catra clearly doesn’t like it, and as an autistic person who doesn’t often like hugs I’m just like 🙅‍♀️

I think Scorpia may also be neurodivergeant (or as one of my brother's partner's calls it - "neurospicy") - she seems to miss social cues, too. And since the Horde has occupied her land since before she was born, she probably didn't have many good role models for social interaction growing up. And I don't know if I'm demisexual but I identify way too much with that second paragraph...

I don’t get the impression that Scorpia was born neurodivergent (eg autistic, adhd) but I think it’s fair to say anyone who grew up in the Horde has some form of neurodivergence. I’ve seen tumblr posts that speculate Adora might be neurodivergent because she misses social cues (there were other reasons given but it’s been a while since I saw that post), and I watched a YouTube video from someone with BPD who identifies a lot with Catra. I’d argue that Scorpia actually had better role models than any of the other Horde kids growing up, based on the picture on her dresser (trying to avoid spoilers). But I think she probably didn’t get to interact with the other kids much based on her upbringing.

Scorpia is absolutely right that Catra and Adora have this special bond even when they are enemies, it's even shown multiple times in this episode by Adora knowing Catra's favorite number and Catra isolating and fighting Adora in the same exact way Adora said she would in episode 4. It's so obvious that even though they've been enemies for months at this point they still know each other better than anyone.

Your feelings are valid Jenny, even as a non neurodivergent person (or not formally diagnoised) I would be deeply uncomfortable with some of the ways Scorpia behaves. That's just because I am a cold and distant person by nature though, give me space is the best way of showing me you care LOL

That’s literally the best way into a cat’s heart! You really ARE like Catra! Also, self-diagnosing is valid, and it’s a pretty common thing with neurodivergent people, or at least in my experience it is with autism. I diagnosed myself when I was 22, then went through several misdiagnoses with various therapists before I finally did a diagnostic assessment designed specifically for autism with a psychologist who specializes in autism when I was 25.

Lol, I love that you wanna see Mermista and Lonnie interact because one of my favorite She-ra fic writers has actually paired the two of them together in at least one fanfic! I won’t tell you if they ever interact in the show, but I was gonna tell you that my favorite princess/horde friendship is actually Lonnie and Frosta! They just have similar vibes, you know? Rogelio and Perfuma was the biggest surprise to me, but it actually works really well!

She has no concept of personal space, which really bothers Catra... And yes this is actually kinda important... somewhat soon. Hard to if that's neurodivergeant or not... Saying it in that way suggests it could be the case though. Honestly, I think the intent was to take a character that is modeled on are very defensive and dangerous to annoy animal and make them the most caring character in the show, and play on that dichotemy. Scorpia will do anything for someone she thinks of as a friend, and will be the first to volunteer to help a friend in need.

I think it’s pretty normal to be jealous especially if you start to develop feelings and become connected to a person. I could personally relate (despite Scorpia giving hugs to people who don’t want hugs) to her as she’s only ever been nice to Catra and Catra doesn’t ever reciprocate the same back to her as I’ve been in the same predicament before.

I went back and re-watched in slow-mo several times. She pushes a total of like 11 buttons, but the last three are all the same button. So it could be 666, and the Horde just doesn't have good software when it comes to password entry.
