I always consider this to be Ford's fault, if he hadn't told Dipper not to tell Mabel about all this, she would have know what that was and why protecting it was so important.

There’s a google drive with the infinity train episodes I’m not sure if I can comment links here tho

Dipper and Mabel's falling out is based off of a similar incident that happened to the series' creator Alex Hirsch and his sister Ariel. Growing up, Alex and Ariel were in their middle school's improv team. One day, Alex got a call from the high school offering them a spot on their team, which Ariel overheard. While Alex was tempted to join them, it didn't feel right to leave his sister behind. Ultimately, it worked out as the high school team feel apart as they couldn't agree on who the leader was.

I don't know how common it is but my brother and I also cut things out of catalogs, for us it was the big Sears catalog, and played with them. We even had some cardboard dolls that had outfits you were meant to attach to them and we cut out new "clothes" for them from the same catalogs. Also, it can depend on the school system a bit, but in a typical US situation most of us went to JR High, or Middle School after leaving elementary-usually after fifth grade. We generally start our freshman year (9th grade) in High School around the age of 14.

I was having buffering issues while watching you have buffering issues. 🙃😆 Honestly, this is all just bringing back nightmares of school for me. My teenage life was a disaster & didn't really have one. When I turned 14 I got my first full-time job & when I graduated I was out on my own. I appreciate how close Dipper & Mabel are. My little sister was my best friend growing up too. But you gotta reach a point where you realize what's best for them. Something that Mabel has been soo blinded by in this whole series, is her own selfishness. I don't really have allot to add about the upcoming apocalypse, other then shits about to get fucking crazy. I'm sure, somehow, it'll all come down to Soos & Wendy to save the day right? 🤣💙

There are fans who STRAIGHT UP just blame Mabel for what happened here so thank you for at least having the clarity to realise she was both extremely upset and tricked

MoscoMoon

Yeah, we all know if she was really in the wrong I'd have been the FIRST to throw down against her, but she had no idea what that thing was, she had no idea it was Bill, she was upset. It wasn't her fault!

Are you kidding me! Patreon’s love to get to see Elijah saving the day. 😏 Honestly you call it a mess I call it premium content. 🤣

One of the things that gets me about this episode is it mirrors what happened to Stan and Ford when they were younger, and how it affected Ford. The genius twin being offered an incredible opportunity, but not considering how badly it's going to hurt their sibling for them to take it. And that pain leading the other sibling to make a huge mistake, not out of malice or anger or even any desire to screw up that opportunity but just doing the wrong thing in their own grief. The fact that Ford knows how badly his and Stan's relationship tanked after his decision to go to college, and doesn't consider that Dipper becoming his apprentice could do the same thing to him and Mabel, shows that he never actually learned anything from it.

Not only was she upset and tricked, but she also had no way of knowing what she was actually doing. Ford's insistence that Dipper not tell anyone, including Mabel, left her in the dark and unaware of how important the rift was.
