If memory serves I believe that Dana Terrace once said on a Post Hoot that she injected a bit of her own childhood personality into Webigail’s characterization. Dana is the director for some of the best Ducktales season 1 episodes.

potato potato also another potato

It's a lot like owl house in that the show is charming on it's own, but gets way more interesting once it gets past character introductions and the broader story arcs start coming into focus about halfway through the season. If you are enjoying it now, it'll only get better.

The Beagle Boys - and their Mother - are classic McDuck villains. They're a riff on the "Ma Barker" gang of the 1930s. This Webby is *so* much better a character than the OG one. Trust me.

the answers are all there.... hidden in plain sight

Webby is totally my spirit animal to describe me as a kid, I use to take games like tag and hide and seek way too seriously, I mean not so seriously to the point that my friends didn't wanna fuck with me anymore but still I was always in it to win it. 😁😂😂😂

Backstories are coming...just be patient. ;)

While most dart guns are just a couple shots, the ones shown here were clearly also with full auto fire...and I have seen those with magazines up to a 20 shots. (And from pictures I know that there are even belt fed guns with potentially hundreds of shots. But I have never met anyone crazy enough to actually have one of those)

I'm going to have to go back over to Disney Plus to refresh my memory as to when the useless saphhi... um... I mean, "good gal-pal buddies" show up.

I'm with you. Both She-Ra and Ducktales I did not expect to like as much as I did. This is no sweeping fantasy space-sapphic romance, but it is charming with a unique art style, funny as heck, and the story, well, you'll get there. Hamish is watching with you, right? Good. Good. No reason. Just curious. I thought you'd pick up on Beakley in the first episode. Snarling "I'm not your secretary!" before embedding a pen in the wall. Everyone got some added depth between the series. In the old '87, Beakley was little more than Scrooge's maid, and Webby the token girl character who was always under foot and getting in trouble. You already got a taste of the boys' personalities, and that will be fleshed out over the series. I like Louie of the three, but I'm a Huey at heart. The humor is a little dark / adult at times. 2 murder jokes this episode alone. Webby with the spork, and then the meat locker joke. But you have to figure, they know that some of us who watched the old series are watching this one too.

I knew Webby would grow on you. There's just something so charming about Webby's enthusiasm towards even the most mundane things, how she's naive and innocent about normal kid stuff, yet well trained in the art of war and martial arts. Mrs. Beakley definitely taught her well.

Back in the original 1987 show, Webby was a lot less badass and a lot more of an annoying brat. Naturally, the twins hated her coming along on adventures with them. So it's nice to see how much the twin care about this version of Webby, how they include her and don't get mad at her for her screw ups because they know she's new to this kids stuff and is really trying.

I don't know if you saw what I said earlier but be sure to watch the season one episodes in production order rather than airing order. The overarching plotlines flow a lot smoother that way. In this order, the next one you should watch is "The Impossible Summit of Mt. Neverest." Here's a full list. https://ducktalks.com/2019/11/16/ducktales-2017-disney-viewing-order/

I've gone in an adjusted them because there was about 5 episodes out of order thanks for this!!!

Seth Brower

threw a comment elsewhere to ask if that was known, so glad you threw that up for folks to check out and use, it does make a difference. Gotta love when networks shift things around. Did love how much the production team seems to have loved making this, and put that out there for folks to be aware of really quickly.

"Dishclaw"?😂 Sounds badass, but I don't know how you got that from "Mrs. Beakley".

MoscoMoon

I am an idiot... my brain picked up "Mrs Bakeley" and thus thought kitchen ergo Dishcloth...
