So thinking back to it -- there was an episode where we see older Lottie and she's got playing cards and SHE pulls the Queen of Hearts with the blacked-out eyes and then pulled it *again*. That means that particular moment where Nat pulled that card in the past was significant for the entire group - like, nothing was the same after she pulled that card. On the one hand, I'm really bummed that Javi's gone - like, seriously, what even was the point of him? Ben found his little hidey hole just with some clever deduction and study of the map they'd pieced together, so they didn't even really need to bring him back (especially since he never actually told them where he'd been all that time, moreover why he didn't just rejoin the group?). Only - he tried to save Nat when she was in danger, and I can't help but appreciate him for that. I think his death weighs heavily on Nat's conscience, still, though. Like Nat feels like she could have done more to save him or help him, or that he deserved to survive and not her. The thing with Akilah and her little buddy, Nugget (rip), makes me wonder if there's more to it than just their hunger making them see things. We had Ben hiding in his mind with his ex whatshisnuts, we also have Nat telling Lottie how she could see them all in the plane and how they didn't make it. Now we have Akilah thinking she's been taking care of this little mouse for how long, now? There's this clear element of unreliable POV for everybody, at this point - the question is, what are those unreliable POVs hiding?
