The Aster 30 is designed to defend against tactical ballistic missiles only but that's actually already very good.

I'm waiting for smaller drones to carry the Black Scorpion VLWT and sonobuoys. It would be an economical ASW system for smaller naval vessels, esp in shallow waters.

The source says the range of the ASTER 30 is 65nm. Is that enough to take out a ballistic missile?

Hi aaron great video! The helicopter 🚁 NH 90 caïman marine shoot the mu90 in the franch navy. I dint know if other countries use us made one

I think the VLS fire rate thing is misleading, and not actually 1 per 15 seconds. The Sylver A50 VLS / Aster 30 combo is the main long range component of the PAAMS joint air-defense system. PAAMS can reportedly launch "eight missiles in under ten seconds" with 16 missiles simultaneous guidance, and explicitly claims it does that with the Sylver. So I think this truly is either a typo and they mean ~1.5, or it's not their actual max rate of fire being published, or some other explanation.

Hi Aaron great video! Some data, the SYLVER fire rate is "less than 1 second per missile per 8 cell module" (there is no treaty involved in this). The Hellenic Navy FDIs in addition, will have 4 SYLVER modules for a total of 32 cells and one RAM system for terminal defense. The terminal maneuverability of Aster 15 and 30 is not just 15Gs it is in the range of 40Gs+. This is because on top of the aerodynamic controls, the missile has gas vector control (similar to those of exoatmospheric vehicles) which is called "PIF-PAF"
