Some great photos - sad to see some of those ships laid up. The Ticos did great service.

When I played Harpoon as a kid, I was always happy to have one or two of these in my CVBG. They are all over 30 years old. The early Arleigh Burke's are reaching 30 years old. Looks like they are scheduling 7 Tico's for decommissioning in 2022. We cant build ships as fast as they are taking them out of service. This is going to leave us a little light on escorts after 2022. We need to build ships faster, we need more space. Reopen Avondale shipyard, Ingalls East Bank Facility needs a complete overhaul but could provide 14 new slipways. Orange TX shipyard would need a large rebuild, Alabama shipyards could use a little work, Keppel AmFELS in Brownsville TX could be revitalized there is a lot of space on the north side of the canal that could be turned into slipways or drydocks, Detyens Shipyards, Inc. could provide a lot of space if we built floating drydocks for construction it would need more infrastructure. I went through a 2004 list not much else available. We need to build a large number of ships quickly. https://www.maritime.dot.gov/sites/marad.dot.gov/files/docs/ports/national-maritime-resource-and-education-center/9491/2004-reportonsurveyofusshipbuildingandrepairfacilities.pdf
