It’s perhaps a bit of a side story, but I understand that General Dynamics/EBC took advantage of the Nautilus to boost their PR image - even taking on graphic designer Erik Nitsche to help garner public support for nuclear powered submarines... some great posters and artwork was created by Nitsche during this time
