Progress Report Week 21 / Change-log 0.9.7 (Patreon)

Buckle up, people.
This is going to be another fairly long post.
As always, the change-log will be posted at the bottom of this message.

Sweet Affection 0.9.7

Apart from my neck feeling pretty sore for a couple days, I'm happy to say that
I was able to get back to work after 2 days of rest, and finish all the remaining content for the 0.9.7 update.

We finished all the coding as well, and if everything's going according to plan, we should be able to finish beta testing, today.
Giving me plenty of time to make all the builds, upload them, and making sure that all of them are working properly.

I'm aiming to release the 0.9.7 update around 12:00 on May 31st (CEST)
Hopefully a bit earlier, but that completely depends on how smooth the next 2 days go.

Sweet Affection 0.9.8

In the meantime, I already started doing some work on the 0.9.8 update.
Mainly doing some prep-work so that I can start working on the actual content the moment I release the 0.9.7 update.

Of course I can't say that much about that update, yet.
But, because it will include another full level of a side-character (Jane).
I can guarantee that it will be another big one.

Diary Pages for Side Characters:

The diary pages for the side-characters.
We've been doing a lot of thinking in the past couple of weeks/months, figuring out how we could best implement them, and in what order.
And we finally came up with the following plan.

1. We are going to implement the diary pages retroactively when we work on that specific side-character.

So, for example: In June, Jane will get another update, and we'll be implementing the diary pages for her previous levels as well in that update.
After that, new diary pages will be added with every new level. (for that level)

I decided not to implement all the diary pages for all the side characters at the same time, because:
- Obviously, that would be an immense amount of work.
- But, also because I'm worried that adding all pages at the same time will lessen the impact that I want these diary pages to have.

2. The diary pages will be slightly different than M&S their pages.

Because the daily schedule of the side characters is very different to M&S their schedule, making an hourly diary page system for the side-characters wouldn't work.
That's why I decided that I'm going to do it a bit different.

- Each side character will get multiple pages once you meet them. (Level 0)
This will serve a bit as their backstory and what is going on in their lives before the MC met them.

Then, once you start to progress in their journey, the following will repeat:

- Each side character will get multiple pages as their affection grows.
That could be when they are at 25 Affection, 66 Affection or anything.

- Each side character will get multiple pages that will unlock during specific events.
Most times, this will be the impactful events that they spend with the MC.

3. We also add cheats

Cheats will be added, so if you already completed all currently available content for
a character, you'll be able to unlock all the diary pages from the menu.

There is not going to be a set amount of diary pages for each character.
I will use as many pages as I'll think are needed. :)
And, I hope that everyone is going to enjoy it.
Because, I am quite looking forward to implementing it.

Plan for the rest of 2023:

Now, the plan for the remainder of 2023.
I've updated all the roadmaps, which you can find ---> here <---.

Before I summarize it here, I first like to say something:
There have been a lot of people that have been telling me that I should take better care of myself.
Especially in the first three months of this year, it was simply too much.
And, I completely agree with that.
Only now, two months later, I feel like I recovered a bit from that.

And, even though I'm happy that I was able to give everyone so much content, I  know that it's not possible to do keep going like that.
I was hoping to push out more side-character content, but I decided that I am going back to my development schedule of 2022.

Developing the side-character content on a bi-monthly basis.
Not only taking more time to ensure I can deliver the quality you are used to, but also allowing myself to take better care of myself.

I know that this will mean that M&S their journey will be likely finished before I'm done with all the side-characters.
And, my apology for the long wait for the development of those side-characters.
I promise that they will all be finished in the end, and that I'll continue to pour myself into their events, ever single day.

Now, for the summary of what I have planned for 2023

June 0.9.8             : M&S Hourly Events, Room items + Jane Level 4

Juli 0.9.9                : M&S Hourly Events, Cosplay.

August 0.9.91        : M&S Hourly Events, Lingerie + Sidney Level 4

September 0.9.92  : M&S Dates, Texts

October 0.10.0       : M&S Level Up 9 -> 10 + Suzie Level 4

November 0.10.1   : M&S Hourly events.

December 0.10.2    : M&S Hourly Events + Donna & Rose Level 4

As you can see, there is a lot of content planned for the remainder of 2023.
I think this should be doable for me without the risk of burning myself out, but also ensuring that I'm able to give everyone the content that you deserve.

Originally I had planned to implement a 0.9.93 update as well, which would contain the dates and the 0.9.92 would contain the Cosplay, Lingerie, Texts, Room item events for M&S.
But, by switching some things around, I'm quite sure that I can finish all the level 9 content for M&S a little bit sooner.

Of course some things can shift if something happens, but this is my goal for the remainder of 2023. :)
