Yea 10 toes down is hood slang . Basically saying you stepping to anything and not backing down

I think that right now I could easily say that J.I.D. is the best rapper (in my opinion). Now that doesn't mean I think hes the best person making rap music, just that when talking about the ability to go over any production style and deliver incredible verses hes the top. Kendrick may have better storytelling, JPEGMAFIA might have better production, but pure rapping ability its gotta be J.I.D.

The “doo doo doo”s at the start of Kody Blu 31 were sung by JID family. He mentions in an interview “The song Kody Blu 31, the way it starts is actually at my grandma’s funeral. So I have the actual footage I’m sitting there crying, holding the phone recording this cause I know it’s a big moment… Just recording this my dad is singing his heart out on this recording. At the beginning of the song, the first 15, 20 seconds you can hear my whole family singing, you can hear my momma say “Thank you lord”, it’s super powerful.”

It would be great to see you react to Nas - Magic. Some of his newer stuff.

I think acid rap by chance the rapper would be really impressive to you!! I know his reputation has waned in recent years but the energy and excitement in chicago surrounding that mixtape is still like nothing i’ve seen for any other rising artist. definitely listen to the soundcloud version though to get all the samples!

Seeing you talk about the second verse on Bruddanem reminded me that you need to react to Conway the Machine - God Don't Make Mistakes. That's all. Cool reaction, JID's flow is amazing and probably the best of any new school rapper.

On the back of this i'd highly recommend Faces by Mac Miller, like Acid Rap, it's a mixtape technically but both have been updated to be allowed on mainstream steaming services. Many Mac fans consider it to be his greatest work (at least in mac's more rap era wise??) whilst also being ridiculously self-aware and abstract, as depiction by the album cover. I'd love to see you'd dive urther into Mac's work and also Chance's earlier stuff. (sidetone, soundcloud versions are better due to sample clearances)
