The Part Where He Talks About Crying In Argentina Is Another Reference To Nipsey Cause Kendrick Was Performing In Argentina When He Heard The News Of Nipsey’s Passing https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=krFvHw-7Jpk

Also just in general knowing how important nipsey was to his community makes that last verse so powerful to me at least. Shawn cee I believe words well in his reaction. But I excited for Friday !

Definitely do a little research on a Nipsey Hussle and then go back and watch that last verse. It’s so powerful, it is almost like Nipsey was channeling himself from the afterlife through Kendrick. But without the context, it doesn’t hit you that hard.

The song samples Marvin Gaye’s “I want you”. Also the face after Kanye was Jussie Smolett who paid to people to stage as if he got jumped to make it look like a hate crime. When the faces pop up the lyrics are relating somewhat to the perspective of the face, like will smith “where hurt people hurt more people”

That makes sense if you watch the video since he put his face on it. But if you’re just listening to the audio you wouldn’t know who he’s referencing and it just seems it’s just Kendrick talking to us as if he’s dead.

To avoid the overwhelm, you might wanna either commit to watching the vid all the way through first, or do a run all the way at the end so you can better understand how it all fits together after you've read the lyrics

30min vid for 5min song love it xD maybe for next time with track like this with so much inside culture focus, I recommend you watching after youtubers like Shawn Cee, Theneedledrop to get a better understanding of the situation. The last 10min of the vid was you talking about « kendrick potentiel suicide letter » even tho it was aiming for Nipsey shooting with a direct coloration with the deep fake on Kendrick. Either way, do your things and excited to watch react on friday !

A shame you didn't do the whole "The Heart" series

bobthepoppop

Yeah, someone else mentioned doing it in two parts. Focus on video, then focus on lyrics. I think that's a good idea

really no reason too, I think its best if he listens to it on his own time.

Oh man… I just finished the album, no spoilers coming. I can’t wait for the reaction. That’s all I have to say.

Would u do live reactions to upcoming albums? With chat and everything?

Bob the 3rd verse is from the perspective of Nipsey Hussle. He’s a rapper who was murdered. Its the face Kendrick turned into last.

I’d prefer you didn’t, Bob. What I love about your channel most is your attention to detail to the lyrics and music when reacting. I feel like a live chat will be too distracting and maybe once in a while influence your feeling’s about a song/project

I hear you, but I think it could result in a dynamic and possibly more engaging/involved review. I think Bob could handle it if he chose to do it. It’s a conversation at the end of the day.

This song is song of the year, actually it might be the best single I’ve heard in a while. It’s sets the stage for the outpouring of love that Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers provides
