Getting Started (Patreon)
Content
So, apparently Patreon doesn't email or anything when people claim and are owed a reward, so I'll figure out how to do that stuff send out those parker pictures soon.
Secondly, thought I'd talk a bit about the logic behind the Patreon. A big part of what I enjoy about my...uh...brand™? is that it's basically all me--no channel networks (tried one for a month, drastic revenue drop), no company I'm working under, views are all my own. When devs give keys they give them to me specifically, and I'm pretty much independent. But being independent in that way limits your earnings too.
At first I had nothing, then Youtube ads. Youtube ads treated me real well at first, pretty poorly at this point. Patreon, paypal donations and Youtube Fan Funding all all potential extra ways for me to earn money while keeping my content free and unbiased, so I'm going to continue exploring them.
So far it's not all that impressive, but hey, $5 a month will more than pay the hosting + Domain costs for my website. And everything starts somewhere, so I'll keep up the Patreon and we'll see how big it goes, how much time I can dedicate to my videos/site. I always knew it was a moonshoot, but it's been fun and I enjoy it even without the money so I'll see how far it can go and I won't stop making content either way.
Keep being awesome, patrons.
