A writer once advised that to create a good character, ask yourself if you can see that being the main character of their own story if circumstances were different. Well, as we can see from his slice-of-life fantasy, Todo could definitely star in his own anime. A high-school sports anime with him and Yuuji - no fighting and powers involved - would still be fantastic, and that is how you can tell he's a great character.
