2021-10-01 13:25:26 Ryu got the key since she hunted down any and all Familia members (it's essentially an UNOFFICIAL faction of half a dozen or more Familias of morally-dubious nature, and not a name they themselves made, but what others condensed the entire less-than-whole group under a term) she could find, 15 or so years ago when Orario was way more chaotic since Evilus was running rampant and doing all kinds of evil & criminal shit. Astrea Familia essentially fulfilled the role Ganesha Familia does these days, as sort of semi-official Enforcer Familia of sorts, maintaining the public order besides Guild (which is technically per se Ouranos Familia, in a sense, except w/o any Falna). So she prolly got it from some random Evilus person back then when she merc'd or captured some of them w/ her Familia during the huntdown of em. This is what you get when side-stories aren't adapted to the anime, and it skips a lot of the worldbuilding and secondary and/or tertiary plot elements & story.

And Knossos is pronounced "noss-is" Regarding Daedelus, in addition to creating Babel Tower, he also created Daedelus Street, the so-called "poor district" of Orario. It's layout has no rhyme or reason and is thought to be a representation of Daedelus' mental state at the time. This is where Bell fought that silverback in season 1, when he first recieved his Hestia Knife As for why Daedelus started building Knossos, the reason is simple.......envy. Despite his masterful accomplishment in building Babel Tower, the dungeon had already dwarfed his creation by several magnitudes. Daedelus couldn't accept that. So he decided to create his own man-made dungeon to prove that whatever nature could create, man could surpass it.
