The 9th episode of the most recent season of Rick and Morty was about Bigfoot AND had a reference to the Harlem globetrotters so it fits in very well with the recent references on this patreon

My favorite part of this episode is the “the real good news is the Bible” joke. I’m currently learning Ancient Greek and early Christian history(yeah I know) and one of the first things I was taught was that in the original Greek the gospels of the New Testament are called ευαγγελίου or “the good news”. I’m not sure if that’s what the writers were going for with that line but I always get a laugh out of it. It’s also where get neon genesis Evangelion or “origin of the new good news/gospel”

I did not expect to be that triggered by a conversation about modern spellchecking. Very well observed.

I think the writers were referencing how Christian folks proselytizing would often ask "Have you heard the good news about the lord/Jesus?" (Obviously the proselytizers were in on the pun.) - Bob

I adore this episode, yet my lasting takeaway from it is that my wife frequently exclaims, Right On! I always follow that up with, professor freaksworth
