The crossover of the century!

Kat Heagberg

When I woke up this morning at 3:30 AM after what amounted to a "Homer-in-Lisa's Pony" amount of sleep, I was so excited to see a collab between two of my most favorite podcasts pop up in my notifications. And when I saw there was a new Gayest Episode Ever today as well, I thought "surely, both podcasts must have just shared the same episode" (which is totally understandable, and I wouldn't have minded one bit), but when I saw that no! There was also a new Gayest Episode Ever that's totally different too! (Listening to and enjoying the 30-Rock ep now). What a treat! This is definitely going to make this long day a little easier to get through. I'd love to see more crossover eps in the future on either show's platform for sure. Each of the four hosts has such a wealth of knowledge in their related-but-unique areas of expertise and that combination really makes for an extra good show.

Episodes like this are why I subscribe! I was DEEP in the TGIF fandom when Teen Angel, You Wish and a few others premiered. It's the first time I ever remember thinking, "I don't think I want to watch this...?" I lied to myself and came back week after week, but it was clear that TGIF had hit it expiration date with me. But Teen Angel was so horrible that it stayed with me and I would happily bring it up around fellow TV nerds in college.

This was a great episode. I love the mixing of Talking Simpsons and Gayest Episode Ever. All four of you blended so well and both shows styles were still distinct and complimentary.

Wow I’m only a half-hour in but this is already an insanely good episode. The entire psychic landscape of the magical sitcom makes so much sense as explained by your guests, and the detour past Lovitz! all the way to Mighty Ducks is wild. I haven’t heard any actual Teen Angel content yet, but if their sitcom writing is anywhere as good as your podcasting I’m in for a treat!

Great episode, though the high volume on the clips is blowing out my ears. Sounds like a truly dreadful show

I assumed this show was basically a live action version of The Gary Coleman Show. It does not sound better than that. Hardly a galaxy of prawns.

This was a treat! Teen Angel seems awful, but I love Drew and Glen!

I love when you guys do deep dives into Simpsons adjacent content. I’d love some day for you to cover the pilots Lookwell!, Pistol Pete, etc in an episode.

What better metaphor for this forgotten piece of garbage than all the horribly unfunny episode clips blowing out my eardrums with THX level force

I was amused by the joke about Warner/Discovery killing the Urkel multiverse because they did cancel the Urkel animated Christmas special that was supposed to premiere this holiday season. I have no idea what an Urkel anything looks like in 2022, but I am a bit disappointed we won't get to find out.

This episode was driving me a bit insane because all the time I thought you were gonna talk about this TV show called Teen Angel that I remember watching as a kid back in the U.K. But it wasn’t this… Turns out it was a completely different thing that aired in 1989.
