The more things change, the more Beavis and Butt-Head stay the same. And that's the very premise of Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe; despite being sucked (huh-huh, you said "sucked") into 2022, the small brains of the famously dumb duo are forever trapped in 1995. But if you've been a fan of Mike Judge's rudest cartoon over the past 30 years, you wouldn't have it any other way. This month on What A Cartoon Movie, listen in as we explore the highly successful Paramount+ reboot movie designed to delight Gen Xers and elder Millennials alike!

As a younger millennial (‘94) I have to say newer B&B is more enjoyable to me than the older series, probably has to with them reacting to things I’m familiar with (Katy Perry, Teen Mom) the lack of that in the classic series made it less engaging

Looks like I'm watching this tonight. Already watched a few of the new episodes and they're pure gold.

Saucesome: the first non-Disney WACM since February, and the second in the year overall. I watched this yesterday evening for the podcast and it was really funny. I then watched the SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run right after. It gave me almost no laughs and is the worst SpongeBob movie of the three. Despite the CG animation being a spectacular translation of the original 2D art, it felt like the characters were just going through the motions. Conversely, Beavis and Butthead has less spectacular animation but feels fresh and true to the voice of the characters. I guarantee they made me laugh long and hard.

I definitely read Beavis as the smarter of the duo, he just lacks any sense of self-esteem and is basically held down by Butt-Head. He's also the only one of the duo that seems to possess any real shred of humanity as demonstrated with his feelings for Serena. Butt-Head is basically just a moronic narcissist. As you guys were talking about it, I was initially thinking this had all been done in a subtle fashion throughout the show, but then I remembered the Christmas episode actually shows us what Beavis would be like without Butt-Head, and while he doesn't demonstrate if he's a great deal smarter or not, he is described as "a good kid." This film was great though and I enjoyed it a lot. I did think it started to drag a little bit probably around the 70 minute mark, but it re-centers itself and sets up a satisfying conclusion. And I said it before under the Lew Morton interview, but the new series is really terrific. Paramount+ sucks, but there are so many ways to get free trials of it out there and I definitely think it's worth jumping through that hoop to check it out.

those nacho dispensers still exist, at least here in central Illinois - I see them behind the concession counter at our minor league baseball stadium

Dropping all eps at once > weekly. Why stay with the old television model? So you can chat about it on social media? Lol. The old model always sucked, especially for shows that had continuity.

Glad to have an excuse to revisit this movie so soon. It was better than I expected honestly and I really love Mike Judge stuff. While are on the topic of Mike Judge stuff, you guys referenced Tales from the Tour Bus as the Mike Judge Country show at the start of the episode. While this isn't exactly false it is only half true. Season 1 of that show was country and season 2 was all funk. Unfortunately there wasn't a season 3 and we never got to see what genre they were going to tackle next.
