Maybe it’s my age being just a bit younger but I’ve never found the Dwight and cubert episodes to be all that bad. This is easily the best one and honestly a favorite and oft quoted of mine but admittedly it’s all 100% because of bender, calculon, and the tv executives. The execubots came back in comedy centrals run and hopefully the Hulu run has them make an appearance. I will throw my tv into the street with disgust if there’s no tinny Tim. And as an aside, I’m kind I’m kind of shocked bob doesn’t know more black flag. I would expect everyone knows rise above. I would also think nervous breakdown could come up, but that’s pre Henry Rollins black flag. (Black flag is kind of a punk rock holding station, just about everyone has been in it at one time or another.) if you played a lot of the later Tony hawk games, ride above is on the soundtrack. Apparently “my war” is in GTV, which I don’t remember despite listen to that specific station in game almost exclusively… I’d say give them a chance. Every single black flag album is kinda different, you may find something you like. Or not, but hey , they have a cool logo on a t shirt. I would check out blag flag a millions times before you dive into “Rollins Band”… if you like Henry rollins spoken word but never heard any of his music.

Hello! Just wanted to fill in sone gaps for your soap opera talk. All My Children is on YouTube uploaded by people who had it on tape. ABC doesn’t seem to care that it’s happening. Also it’s Dixie who is the wife of Tad. Tad actually fell off a bridge (long story) and that’s how he got amnesia. It was to write off the actor who apparently wanted to try his hand in Hollywood or something. He left in 1990 and returned in I want to say 1992 or 1993. And Bob, Henry wouldn’t have seen the Days of Our Lives hourglass because it’s a Sony property that now airs on Peacock as of 2022.

Henry: you say you stopped drinking whiskey when you ended your Sopranos rewatch, but did White Lotus influence you to start drinking Aperol Spritz?

I did very recently order one when going out to a restaurant with friends, but haven't yet made them for myself or invested in the ingredients. I won't lie, that order to try it out was influenced by White Lotus. They look so tasty on the show, and then I learned IRL that they were very tasty. At the very least it'll be my new brunch mainstay. Smell ya later, mimosa! - Henry

This just in, Bob Mackey eats his Cheetos with chopsticks which he believes gives him special powers. More to follow on this story as it becomes available. As a former punk rocker, I was really tickled to hear TV Party on Futurama and the parody at the end, even though Black Flag wasn't one of my go-to bands. I mostly knew them as a result of being really into The Misfits and there's a lot of overlap between those two bands and fanbases. TV Party was also the only Black Flag music video I ever saw air on MTV. I seem to recall some of my friends who were more into Black Flag somewhat turning up their nose at TV Party as a result, because if anything from our little, isolated, world of punk rock threatens to even approach mainstream we were conditioned to not like it.

I was in Boardman, OH this past weekend and Los Gallos is still among the living.

Wow, I could have sworn that the voice of the Network President was an un-credited Jason Lee rather than Billy West. I always thought that was part of the joke, that he would become a network exec. The more you know...

PurpleComet

The network execubots scene is an all-time classic. I'm surprised they're not a meme, especially with Zaslav doing everything he can to ruin HBO Max, I mean, Max (eyeroll).

I was a Black Flag fanatic when I was 14 (good old 1994). I was so excited when this showed up here.

I always remember the moment when Futurama left Cartoon Network for Comedy Central when they directly mentioned it in an episode of Aqua Teen when Shake and Meatwad commiserate about "Carl Central" only being interested in the show because they had it. especially at the time, I was particularly tickled by a third-party show referencing network goings-on within its own universe, because at the time I was too young to understand why a canceled TV show would trade networks

Eating snacks with chopsticks *does* rule. I do it too, and I learned it from my daughter, who eats Doritos Flamas with them.

Funny about doing Irish accent instead of Jamaican accent. I actually had a stand up bit where I did an angry Leprechaun song...I did it 4 times before someone had said to me "I've never heard of a Leprechaun from Jamaica"...whoops.
