Spring has officially begun on the Talking Simpsons Network and we're full speed ahead on podcast production! No April-foolin' from us, we're hard at work on Talking Simpsons, Talking Futurama, TalKing of the Hill, and What A Cartoon, as well as our once-a-month $10 premium podcast. And once more we'll need your help to decide what we'll be covering in May.

Currently, we're so far ahead in podcast recordings that we've already recorded March's What A Cartoon Movie! (Who Framed Roger Rabbit), meaning that now we have time open on our schedule to record our May 2022 movie podcast, and we can start on that as soon as you choose the subject for us!

For those of you who are new to the Talking Simpsons Patreon, WELCOME. Also, you should know that once a month we release the What A Cartoon Movie! podcast, an extra-long discussion about an animated feature film, exclusively for our $10+ Patreon subscribers. And when we open up the voting for each month's subject, we want all the $5 subscribers to also have a chance to be heard, so those subscribers can help pick episodes they might enjoy down the line!

Our next 2022 poll covers is another of our "Yes/No" polling format as we return to another entry in a series we've enjoyed exploring before. We're talking about the 2010 third Pixar entry, Toy Story 3. The billion-dollar close to the Andy Saga of the franchise, we want to do a whole podcast exploring Sunnyside Daycare and the world of Lots-O'-Huggin' Bear.

We expect you'll all welcome a return to Toy Story's universe, but we still want it to be the choice of our patrons. And so, as we've done in the past with these types of movie podcasts, we're leaving this up to you all as a yes or no option in our monthly poll. If you want us to cover Toy Story 3, vote "YES." And if you would prefer a different poll for the May 2022 movie podcast, then vote "NO" and we'll do a different poll with four choices after that.

So please, make your choice known before the poll closes on the night of April 7! Thanks as always for your continued support of our many awesome podcasts, and we hope you enjoy whatever wins!

Yes, do it so the saga is complete

I don't like Toy Story 3, but you have my permission to do it! I just think it's too naval-gazing. Some parts of it feel like recycling plot points and trying to come up with something for all these characters to do, and the rest is a saintly Sunday mass where we all hold hands and accept the sacrament of the holy ghost. It feels like a Mormon film to me. It's very well-made, I guess I just don't like the writing.

No because I loved Toy Story 3 but I also know Toy Story 4 ruined everything important about Toy Story 3, making any re-visitation of like opening the coffin you made for the puppy you grew up with but passed away surrounded by loved ones during your first Christmas back from college. It was buried 11 years ago. You wont like what you see now. May I suggest Brave Little Toaster as an alternative? Its pretty much the same thing, and its a 35th Anniversary!

Really want a break from toy story/pixar in general. A non disney film like ferngully or all dogs go to heaven would be nice.

Oh man, I voted yes, but if Brave Little Toaster was on the table instead, that would be an instant choice for me.

Voted yes to complete the set. Yes. Complete.

With No catching up fast to yes, I'd like to suggest the possibility of another Cartoon Network Movies themed poll. It was great getting to listen to the Ego Trip episode last year, but there are so many more CN movies just waiting for their chance to shine. Steven Universe The Movie, Ed Edd N Eddy Big Picture Show, Billy & Mandy Big Boogey Adventure, The Powerpuff Girls Movie. I'd love to see any of these get the chance in the spotlight.

Changing my vote purely to see what happens if one of these yes/no polls actually results in a no. I assume chaos will reign and various pits to hell will open up.

If this makes it through there is a really interesting older podcast about writing the movie. It is the now semi-defunct (it evolved into a different podcast really) Creative Screenwriting Magazine podcast: Michael Arndt - Toy Story 3. Some of it is about why the Little Miss Sunshine guy wrote the movie and really how collaborative it was, to the point where he admits that it is weird to have the amount of credit he does get for it. Honestly, even if this doesn’t get made it is worth a listen if you like this movie or simply want some insight into the Pixar writing process at the time.

Wow this one is freaking close! Im tempted to open multiple patreon accounts to push “no” over the finish line. I listen to every episode regardless, and truly appreciate your efforts.

Hell yeah I was 10 when this came out so it really hit me hard, would love to hear you guys talk about it. Definitely not as good as 1 or 2 in my eyes but that doesn't make it less interesting to hear you guys talk about it

The Brave Little Toaster would be great! There'd be a lot to explore with that movie's weird source material.
