One thing about the creation of Foster's that Craig only revealed recently at a panel with Gallery Nucleus is that the original idea was for a series called "By George". It would have been about a couple of young parents raising a baby who had the unique ability to imagine friends based on how he was feeling. Craig could tell Linda Simensky had a lukewarm reaction to the idea, so the night after he thought long and hard about why he liked the idea, and he isolated it down to "imaginary creatures in the human world". That's when he looked to his dogs and came up with the animal shelter/foster home idea. The next day, he pulled Simensky aside and pitched her the new idea, and she reacted very positively, but asked if there was a kid in it. Realizing he hadn't thought of a kid entry point, he came up with Mac and Bloo's agreement with Madame Foster on the spot.

I bounced off this show pretty hard at the time due to finding Bloo insufferable, so hearing that Bob felt the same way comes as a huge relief.

Can I please have “I wish I had watched it when it mattered to the algorithm” on my tombstone or the very least a t-shirt? Kudos Henry! Also similar to Bob I had a weird named imaginary friend. It was Bong Yong. I wonder what my parents were doing back in the 70s for me to hear that word? 🤷‍♂️

I'm not too sure on this but I believe the design behind coco is the kid who made her was marooned on a island and that's why the body is a plane, the feet are deflated rafts and head a palm tree. But again not too sure of that's cannon or not.

very funny to hear you guys complain about mac, who i loved and identified with as a kid watching foster's- i was a no-fun little dweeb.
