Oh boy! This was a big one. The lightsaber, and the project haha. In this Aftershow we cover:

- When we actually "started" this video (5 months, 3 months)
- What else we might wanna use the flashlight for
- Origin of this idea (Evan's initial thought and how Katelyn contributed (I was thinking allthread along sides and clamps, Katelyn thought of the hug idea))
- Why we put it off for so long (so many uncertainties out of our control (from supply and if it would even work))
- Thoughts on this filming style vs our usual (leads to so many active projects at the same time)
- How we almost chose a different flashlight and what that would have changed
- Thoughts on the failed color changer
- What we would change if we were to do it again

Have a nice weekend y'all!

-Katelyn

I know I’m a little late to the party but you could most likely use dichroic lenses to change the color with no issues of heat

Hey there, lighting technician from the UK! I know I'm a little late but just had a thought that might work if you really *really* want to have a coloured lightsaber. If you get a sheet of lighting gel (I'd recommend either Lee 120 or Lee 071 for that Jedi blue and maybe Lee 182 or Lee 106 for Sith red), you could then roll into a single layer and place inside the PVC tube that is attached to the mega-flashlight of the sun. The light that travels down the tube will still refract and shine out of the sides thanks to the lid and there shouldn't be any risk of fire. Just a thought if you wanted to come back to this project and tweak it to what you wanted :)
