Hello!

I'm legitimately excited to announce that, in an attempt to make a go of doing this thing full-time, I will soon be making available new tiers for education and mastering.

There are a few tiers of education rewards on tap, all based on scaling from a basic amount-per-hour idea.

Before we get into the tiers, I want to explain that lessons and mastering are available ala carte if you want. Just reach out to me and we can work something out.

The way lessons will work is this:

Whether you sign up for the Patreon tier that has a lesson or you want to do it ala carte, you can book the time on my Calendly ( https://calendly.com/redmeansrecording).

We can discuss beforehand what you're looking to learn (we'll cover topics in a smidge). If I need any resources from you, like your session files or lists of plugins you're using, we'll work that out too. We can use Patreon messaging for all that. Meetings will be handled on Zoom, with audio from my DAW if appropriate.

Lessons will be recorded and sent to the Patron afterward, and we'll have a follow-up message to discuss what we want to do next if anything.

So what can we learn together?

Stuff I feel comfortable talking about is stuff you've seen me do in my videos. Want to learn how to use Ableton better? Sure! Want to learn how to use a specific VST better, use effects better, mix a track, master a track? Sure! Want to learn how to use a specific piece of hardware I have in my studio? Yeah! Want to learn how to shoot better videos, capture better sound, do color correction and graphics? Yes ma'am.

Some caveats: I'm on a PC for the most part, and firmly rooted in Ableton. I won't be able to provide a ton of support for other specific systems or DAWs. I can, however, teach lots of stuff that applies to DAWs, synthesis, song creation, mixing, etc. I can take stems from any DAW and mix them or master them with you. Whatever you want.

Lesson tiers will start at 30 minutes a month, and then increase to 1 hour, 2 hours, 3, and 4.

That leads us to the mastering perk:

Mastering is something I've been doing with my tracks for as long as I've been making music, and I'm fucking old. I've gotten to the point where I feel comfortable mastering my stuff, and other people's stuff. I have a combination of Ozone advanced, and a stereo tone amp that does some magic saturation and EQ. These things in conjunction are what I've mastered everything you've heard me do, ever.

So, I thought I'd throw in some mastering perks to the education tiers. Each one of the education tiers gets a track mastered a month. I'll make a post on Patreon once a month that calls for tracks from the appropriate tiers, and you can DM me the links to your tracks.

The education and mastering can roll-over into the next month if you're unable to use it in the current month.

That's about it! I'm going to do some test runs with some friends to iron out the kinks, and then I'll make the tiers and post about it here when they're available.

I'm stoked to see if this works out. I'll be in touch soon.

I was thinking of maybe some collaboration options. Like sending a loop or sample pack and you making a beat around that. Could also make some great content for the channel.

I'm really happy to see you go forward with this. As a constructive idea: it might be good to set some ground rules up how you want the trainee showcase his request, e.g how screensharing works or a Webcam may be needed when you guide hands-on gear use remotely.

thank you for the tips. i had a few things I'd like to make videos on regarding this whole process, like making stems and stuff, but I need to get through the first couple weeks of lessons first. there's a lot on my plate all of a sudden.
