These Hot Days Remind Me Of... (Patreon)

Hi Grizzlies!

I thought I'd show you some photos from 2019 when I was in South Africa and had access to lots of pools! South Africans love swimming and we mostly have pools at home, which is the opposite of Dutch culture. I miss it a lot! It's been extremely hot here this weekend and I wish I had a pool to dive into like I did in South Africa. Here it's indoor public pools or lakes/canals (ew, hehe). 

The first picture is of the pool we had in our townhouse complex - I loved taking my skipping rope there and then jumping in the pool afterwards. The 2nd picture is of a vegetarian version of butter chicken Indian food - we LOVE Indian food and miss it a lot. South Africa is a cultural melting pot (11 national languages!), so the food is amazing and there's always a huge variety available. In the Netherlands, we mostly attempt to make this at home. 

The 3rd picture is with one of my favorite clients when I was a swim coach. His name is Bandile and I taught him how to swim butterfly, how to dive, how to do a full length underwater, it was fun! The next photos are with people I miss a lot and still talk to: Dorcus, Abza, and Curtis. They were my best friends at the swimming facility I worked at. And I have one photo of me in the water coaching an orphan- our swimming school gave free coaching every Wednesday to an orphanage and the kids absolutely loved it. 

In the meantime, I have been painting up a storm. I promise to show you when it's done, I have 3 more items to paint. What I've done is paint all our thrifty furniture white so that our home looks calm and crisp and clean, hehe. I have filmed some before shots and just want to finish these items before I film the after, and then I will make a video for you. Painting furniture takes a long time, so I sit and paint and listen to YouTube videos (or watch Gossip Girl, lol)... and I've been working hard on this for about a week now. Can't wait to show you in a few days!
