John Wayne Gacy was known as "The Killer Clown" , even though he had never lured any of his victims as a clown. In fact, he mostly lured his victims into his car by pretending to be a police officer- uniform and all, and calling his company PDM to make it seem similar to Police Department. He came up with the name POGO which meant Polish on the Go, because he was of Polish descent (most of his victims were Polish too).

But he did have an obsession with clowns- he had a room dedicated to clown pictures, memorabilia and attire, like a "clown museum" according to investigators.

Writing my John Wayne Gacy book took me mentally down into his crawlspace for weeks- there was a time where I was dreaming of it every night and it was very disturbing- the details shared by attorneys, investigators and victims who got away was HECTIC.

For example, Gacy used to read bible verses to his victims as he watched them die (after performing his "rope trick" he learned as a scout)... it's as eerie as it gets!
