Another thrilling Ninjavember has come to a close. What better way to end than with REVENGE OF THE NINJA,  the second film in the Cannon Film Group NINJA trilogy. Reminder: we did the third and final film in the trilogy last week. This one has ninjas, revenge and Sho Kosugi what the fuck else do you need?? Also please note that the Ninjavember theme that plays before these special episodes will now be our permanent theme.

I have purchased 3 separate masks that promise to not fog up glasses (never works) I tried the shaving cream, anti fog shit for hunting scopes, everything I read online.. nothing worked. Only one that can work is the ol standard surgical mask with the metal nose pincher. It may have something to do with having anti glare coating on your glasses. I would not recommend using toothpaste! That is like rubbing a light abrasive on it, potentially scratching the shit out of em.

Yeah but what color is the boat house at the Tokyo Ninja Academy?

SIDEBAR: I was eating dinner with my family, and my wife turns on the Christmas music. Paul McCartney’s Wonderful Christmastime starts playing, and without thinking, I start singing “siiiimply haaaaving a wonderful sauna shave.” My kids joined in with me, and I don’t know how to feel about that.

Don Shanks is an actual Native but did not look it at all in this movie. He’s most known for playing Michael Meyers once

Nerd alert/the more you know: In Japanese martial arts, “-do” means “way” (the same character for Dao in Taoism) and “-jutsu” means “technique”. Generally speaking, older martial arts (from the era when people were actually killing each other) are “-jutsu”; pragmatic techniques. More modern martial arts, that formally integrate philosophy or sport are “-do”. Ryuha are individual schools. It’s more complicated than all that but you get the idea. Ok roast me

Honestly, the more outlandish the martial arts movie, the more I appreciate real-world history and perspective. It makes the contrast between what's on screen and what actually occurred more stark, and thus more enjoyable. So thank you!
