ActionBooooyyyz come out to play-yaaaaaay!!! THE WARRIORS this week Babyz - what a treat! This is a special movie. So special, it made the Boyz steer clear of talk about adult things like buttplay and instead focus on actual wordplay. Yeah, wordplay, like a couple of dad/uncles. Don't worry Stanger somehow manages to shoehorn chem-sex into the discussion.... oh and they also talk a little about the movie. Are the ABZ  good?...real good? Nah, they're the best. CAN YOU DIG IT??!

The Eric Roberts Experience

Yo Gabrus, the leader of the Orphans was in The Cable Guy. The soothing sounds of Rauuuuul ladies and gentlemen.... you had honey in your voice tonight.

Paul McCartney is now an honorary action boy.

I knew I can rely on the Action Boyz for a Middleditch reference early on

Saw Last Blood this weekend and my god was it so fucking disappointing. Looking forward to a dissection by the Boyz on Shadow Wolves though.

I hate the new comic book transitions in one of the re-releases. Totally jarring

#CancelStanger for pigeon stomping

"I got pigeons, you wanna stomp on me Focker"?

Planning on watching it this weekend. What was disappointing? The action or story?

Anonymous

Yeah, I’m not so bothered by the story as long as there is plenty of action.

The big meeting of the gangs with Caesar was clearly an inspiration for/ripped-off by Frank Miller for The Mutants and the Mutant Leader in The Dark Knight Returns. 🦇

Went to a double feature of Warriors and Boys From Brazil at a local theater's retro night a year or two back and they had the "Director's Cut" (unadvertised.) I almost walked out immediately - Hill can say whatever he wants about "I always wanted this" but it reeked of "300 was just very popular, let's cram some sloppy comic stylization and direct mythology references into this old movie for today's audiences"

This is coming from someone who really enjoys all the films for different reasons, but I think I saw a comment somewhere saying something to the effect that if this movie was called "JOHN SMITH" and not Rambo it would be effectively the same. They don't trade enough on what made Rambo good. And (minor spoilers but its shown in the trailer) the majority of the action in the final showdown takes place in those tunnels he built under his ranch. I get the idea that he's darting in and out and he's like a ghost, but what you end up getting is an entire action sequence that is in narrow poorly lit tunnels. Contrast that with what felt like a massive outdoor firefight in the previous Rambo film and it just feels really cheap. There's also some weird green screen matte shots and an insanely paper thin plot, and I'm saying paper thin even for Rambo movies.

Honestly, I'd wait for it to hit VOD/rental. Because it's going to be out in like a month on VOD at this rate.

can't wait to snitch tag the shit out of this episode

Thanks mate, you’ve saved me a trip, as the last one was my favourite so sounds like I could watch the finale on YouTube.

I really enjoyed the last Rambo (2009) as well. It just doesn't hit as hard or as well. Theres still a pretty high level of gratuitous violence but it doesn't work as well this time. I suppose if you have a cheap theater in your area where tickets are under 10 dollars or so then it might be worth it, but in Los Angeles I ended up paying 19 dollars for a 90 minute turd.

Hey action Boyz. Whats your favorite magic the gathering card and why

The Boyz were trying to think of the song that samples this movie -- there are tons that do (https://www.whosampled.com/movie/The-Warriors/), but the most bang for your buck is "Can U Dig It?" by Pop Will Eat Itself, which is basically just a dance remix of the film: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=36nWNAvtwrw

Was it brought up that the bad guy is also in 48hrs?

Loved Gabrus's surprise birthday party story. Makes me laugh and empathize everytime i think of it.
