I SOOOOO love this episode that song is amazing and surprising I avoided spoilers of it despite being active in the fandom when this aired lol. that face pinkie made at the end of song was my background for a while and shot her up to #2 of my fave at the time. oh and on the note of holding your own check mark in real life did ya also notice how it broke the fourth wall? if you look you'll notice like her thoughts it's a felt texture so she literally pulled it from her thoughts. also good eye man I idn't even notice derpy when this aired it wasn't until the screen cap popped up on derpibooru that I saw it. also on the note of dash reading yes she is still big into the series and this was the staff steping up to add details and show continuity to previous episodes and yes they do mess it up at times later in the serise but they do their best to bring up things from past episodes which I know Seraphem will point out to you so make sure you keep your eyes open for those call backs when they come up

Awwwww yeah, one of, if not the best song in the entire show... and that's saying something. The Smile Song is pretty much THE Song people show to prove MLP has some amazing musical numbers, and just, one of the most beloved songs in the show, and for a damn good reason. It perfectly shows you everything you need to know about who Pinkie Pie is, and is so damn catchy and awesome. And then we have the rest of the ep which.... while not seen as bad, is generally regarded as one of the more 'mid' eps. Generally, when people bring up this as an ep they like, it's becuase of the Smile Song, it steals the show so hard that the rest is, just kind of there. But it does teach us a valuable lesson..... it's alright to be a clingy, possessive creep who won't take no for an answer towards someone.... so long as you get them laid in the end. Yeah there are some that feel the fact that Cranky DID end up accepting her as a friend undermines the message a little. But screw it, this is MLP! You can't not have a happy ending! Oh and as to 'Fillydelphia' that was Lauren's original pitch for the name of the town the story would take place in, before suits changed it to "Ponyville" The writers love dropping in references to the name as often as possible. Not a whole lot more, we have some great continuity with RD still reading Daring Do and the Cake Twins. Many existential questions raised about the place of cows in Equestrian society. And just, THE song number!
