top ten episode this was our first look into ponies holiday celebration and the introduction of the windigo's and thankfully on both accounts this isn't the last we see of either. also fun fact MLP put out a christmas album BUT you can't listen to it yet as it has spoilers for the future (think season 6 or 7 pretty sure 6)but it's funny because of the title of the album "a pony kind of christmas" they have their own name for the season but still called it that. as for the next upcoming episodes you already seen the next 2 but episode 14 hehe oh study hard their will be a quiz

Good job Jack! Praise the Derp! So yeah an awesome ep, and pretty much the biggest lore dump we've had since the premier. And yes, it's awesome, even if it is a Merriwether Williams ep, hence the over done and unneeded backstage bickering. Though all the actual lore came from Lauren Faust. Yeah, still not a fan of hers, but this ep actually played to her strengths as a writer. My thing with her is, I don't think she's a bad writer overall, she was just a very bad fit for this show in terms of her writing style. But this story was right in line with it. We now know how Equestria was made, and we see how much each of the Tribes is needed to make it work. We also get another name drop of Starswirl The Bearded. Huh wonder if he's important or something..... In other lore reveals we also have the most used metric for trying to get an accurate size for the Ponies, the mention of an 8-foot candy cane. Which, alongside most other methods used, gives us a general average height of the ponies of between 3.5-4 feet tall. So yes they ARE 'little' ponies. Then you have "is this really something you have to debate?" with that flag used at the end, and SOOOOO many theories about why it has two Alicorns on it, and what that meens and.... I'm going with Occam's Razor on this one, they just used the modern Equestrian flag rather then whatever the historically accurate one would be. We also have a lovely carol that Daniel Ingram said he wrote with the idea it could be not only Equestria's national anthem, but be one for the Brony fandom as well. Next up, the Windigos, which yes are based on on wendigos, a creature from northern Native American tradition that is a spirit of cold and starvation that is usually associated with cannibalism. (Either dark spirits that drive people trapped by winter to resort to it to survive, or the cursed remnants of those who did so.) You know..... for kids! There has also been a lot of speculation on how the Fire of Friendship might be related to the Elements of Harmony. This ep gave us a LOT of major lore. So yeah one of the high points of the season and the series, and one of the most lore heavy eps! Plus, we get the Pony version of Christmas! Wha'ts not to love?
