Now that Shifter Labs 3 has come to a close, we're in front of a sea of free time...no scheduled posts...

What do we do??! Panic?? Fortunately no, we have a few ideas of how to proceed!

Shifter Labs 4 is now in development, as most of you know from the reveal trailer found at the end of SL3's secret ending as well as my YouTube channel. However, we plan on switching development platforms off of Twine, so that we can make more complicated and bigger games to play. This will, however, take a while...

In the meantime, however, I have a few ideas of how to go forward.

Every so often, we're going to be making our own original smaller games, much like commissioned games, just on our own. Small games like that seem to get a lot of attention, so we'll be posting those every so often. How often still needs to be figured out, so stay tuned for more news on that.

Also, there will be a sale on commissioned games soon, probably next week. For this, I've hired a new commissioned games director who will be handling the collection, creation, and distribution of commissioned games. Of course, I will still be writing them and quality-checking them so that they stay the same quality that all of our games have, it will just allow more games to release faster, without any burnout from any of us!

In any case, happy 2024. Exactly 365 days ago, I was in the middle of my last shift ever at my old grocery store. I remember first telling my supervisor that I was thinking of quitting, and he suggested I'd go on break for three months to see if it would work...
...and it did! Now I've been doing this for a full year. It's been a crazy ride. Thank you to everyone for the most amazing year of my life, and years to many more years of this.
