hey there everyone, hope you're doing fine today 💙  i want to show you a few of my recent sketches of my wolf boy story (direction is dark fairytale / dark academia). The story's working title is "500 Full Moons" and I made a collection for it so you can browse through all the older sketches for it as well!!

The story is about two boys who share a curse which causes  one of them to turn into stone during the day and into a beast at night. In this form he's unable to remember who he is. Every night the  other boy takes care of the beast, providing food and slowly trying to tame him. Only during full moon the beast is able to turn into his actual self for the duration of the night and they're able to talk  properly again. However they're not allowed to touch. After 500 full moons (ca. 41 years) they get the chance to break the curse within a month or it'll continue until the next cycle.

That's the very condensed version of it without all the hurt attached~

One of the main characters is Fabi (short for Fabian) and I love him so  much. He's one of my oldest OCs, he has been with me through my whole artist journey so far. I first drew him when I was 14 or 15 and he just stuck around since then. He's gone through a few design changes over the years, but tbh never anything drastic. From the start I knew pretty well how he's supposed to look like and what vibe he's giving off - the way he's a little feral sometimes and otherwise very quiet and too shy to say what he's really feeling. He's also a bit obsessive and he's prone to hyperfixate on things and not letting go of an idea - and all of that will play a huge role in the story. He's the one who turns into a beast at night and into stone during the day!

The other main character is Silas. He's gone through so many design changes over time and I always had trouble finding his appearance. The only thing that kept being constant was his moonphase eyebrows and that he's hopelessly in love with Fabian.... but suddenly HE'S HERE. And suddenly everything about him feels right and I wonder where my boy has been for so so long ; _; Silas is outgoing and gentle, caring and loving, and he has no problems with telling how he feels; however this will end up in a disaster for both of them. He and Fabi end up sharing a curse, and  their curse will force him - even though he craves company more than anything - into isolation. It'll make people scared of him, not wanting to be near him and they treat him horribly in return. It'll slowly errode his trust towards strangers and make him a little less kind, a  little less gentle. There's much more to it, and I'm so excited to tell  you more about it !!

I'll leave that for another post though, because I feel like otherwise it'll be a way too much info at once. For example there are 3 other boys I want to introduce to you as well - they're a poly ship and I would consider all 3 of them main characters, too! they will help Fabi and Silas deal with the curse.

I don't know where this sudden urge to work on this story comes from ; o; It was hibernating for a long time and the only times I was able to advance it was around October each year, a bit like a tradition. This year however.... I'm not sure why, but they're so loud in my mind, they're not going away, I have so so many ideas and it's so incedibly fun to explore the world, suddenly getting ideas for new characters and new relationships. The story has taken solid shape the past few weeks, the  characters have become so clear in my mind! They're having a party in there and it makes me so so happy ; -; it fills me up with the  excitement of storytelling all over again and in turn it makes me even  more excited to draw new Ghost Lights panels!! I just absolutely adore my OCs and I just want to share all of them and talk about them daily, I want them to exist no matter how long it takes.

In general, recently I feel like I woke up from some sort of hibernation, too. It started off slowly during this year and kept improving especially the last few months and now I feel the full effect of it. It feels so good to dig my claws into storytelling and worldbuilding, and I feel like it's going to inspire new ideas for Ghost Lights as well !!

At this point I'm pretty sure this will become a serious side project alongside Ghost Lights. It's giving me so much motivation all around 💙  and I want to share them with you while I develop their story, too
