Weekly Update - 10/5/22 (Patreon)

God, I wish I had something to do.

The literal opposite.

So I've been pretty busy the last few days. Some day job stuff sprung up, which was good, because I'd been a little light of contract work since the whole Covid debacle. I have, however, gotten in some time in working on QTB1 revisions, and I'm actually even adding a bit to some of the earlier chapters, fleshing them out a little bit here and there. That'll be super frustrating until it's done, but once it's done, it'll all flow and feel much better. Still, that's a month-long project, so I'll be picking away at it any chance I have free time.

I've also decided to call an audible for the next couple of weeks. While originally, it was going to be Brewster's Brood on 10/7 and the "you decide!" on 10/11, when the results came back decidedly that the community wanted more Before The Storm, it was almost as if Serena took over a portion of my brain and camped out until I wrote the damn thing, which is almost done as I hammer out this week's news update. So it'll be Before The Storm 3 on 10/7 and Brewster's Brood 23 on 10/11. Just a swapsies, to let Serena have her way. All that said, I'm actually incredibly happy with how BTS3 is coming along, and I think everyone's going to have a blast with it.

I also hammered out a new "House Rules" post, which I've pinned to the top of the page, and replaces the old House Rules post, explaining the various tiers of subscription levels, and includes links to all the various stories I've done, as well, as a link to all the profiles I've done for the higher tiers. When I started this over a year ago, I wasn't sure anyone was gonna show up, and here we are, a year later, and we're still going strong.

So 10/18 on the calendar currently says it'll be QTPT12, and 10/21 will be Breakpoint 2, with 10/25 the second "You decide" of the month (which I'll toss the poll up for tomorrow) and 10/28 being this year's Silversmith story. I've actually got a road trip with friends planned for the end of the month, so I'll have that story set up to post before I leave. (We'll be in the car for about 16 hours, all said and done, so I'll try and be writing for at least, like, half of that.)

What's that? 10/14 doesn't have anything assigned to it? Hm. You know that's true. I should probably look into that. That seems odd. I wonder how that could've happened.

By the way, for those of you in the Tier 4 and up range, I'm going to be doing a number of polls over the next six months or so specifically relating to parts of Quaranteam Book Two. For me, these are elements of the story that I could go one of multiple ways on, and I want your feedback to help me decide which path we're going to go down. I brought up the first one on the Discord a couple of days ago, but there'll be one coming in probably December or January that might well blow your mind. You'll need to see the chapter before it before I post the poll, but trust me when I say, I don't think anybody's gonna see this one coming. 

I'll even tell everyone what the first poll is, just in case you're considering shifting up to that level, and want to know what you'll be voting on -- given the chance to get reassigned, do you think any of the women in Team Rook would take it? Most of the people on Team Rook have made their attachments known but some came in with previous attachments, and maybe those override the new ones. Maybe they don't! I could be persuaded to go either way. Based on the Discord, I have a feeling how this first poll will go, but it never hurts to check and see.
