This line reminds me if whenever there is a national tragedy like a school shooting, all we ever get is "Thoughts and Prayers" with no real tangible solutions to problems that could be solved with hard work. So, Guts and Casca's child, I just want to say it still exists in a way. That baby is complicated, and I believe I have it all figured out as to how things went down. I will tell you what applies to right now. The Egg eats the baby because it takes pity on it. Pity and empathy for the infant is directly due to the involvement of Luca and her listening to his story. Does the Egg need the baby for Griffith to come back? NO! Griffith would have come back regardless of the baby being there or not. Why? Because it is the wish of the Egg of the Perfect World. In order to bring this wish to fruition, Griffith has to come back. The baby was a surprise, just like the surprise of Skull Knight saving Guts and Casca in the first place. So why is the Egg of the Perfect World so powerful that it can change the world? Because its also the original wish of Griffith. More will be revealed shortly so we can re-visit this. Yes, they are a hot couple, I agree. I actually really like the Kushan! They were a real people that originated in antiquity around India. I was trying to do some research on them, and I found this one video on the history of the Kushan, and they actually used panels from Berserk to illustrate the video. I ... I didn't know if I should laugh or cry. Either Miura really did his research, or the people who put the video together had no idea what they were talking about. The re-birth of Griffith, when Guts starts to run towards Griffith, he hears Casca calling and stops for her sake. He has abandoned his rampage for Casca. I love that panel. As far as Casca reaching for Griffith, I can assure you, and I must just for your sanity, (slight spoiler) she is no fan of Griffith. So, why is she reaching for him? A mother's instinct that there is something else entangled with his physical body. No doubt this is distressing to Guts to see her do this though. Yes, Griffith is beautiful, but he has demon eyes. I call him evil Jesus 2.0. Farnese is Gut's first true follower. She has made her mind up to try to learn the truth of the world. Yeah, she sees Guts as her saint or savior, which is fine for now. I cut her some slack because she is de-converting, and she has no language in which to describe what she is going through. This is why she is one of my favorite characters. In real life it is very hard to get a person as deeply steeped in religious dogma as she was to reevaluate her world view. As far as Serpico? You will see. This is my favorite arc because it plants the seeds that will germinate and resonate in the next arcs. Also, Nina is not wrong in what she says at the end of the arc. That cements her as a fan favorite character for sure.
