Update 2.57 (Stores and Locks) is now live. It contains approximately seven thousand new words, bringing September's total to roughly 20 000. Less than the 30k per month we're used to, but there are a lot of extra things in this update to make up for it. Let's go through it all, shall we?

First and foremost, you can now attempt some better ways to save the caged kobolds in the slaver district. If you manage to get past the cage's lock, the merchant will send you on a mission. Successfully complete the mission, and you'll be granted the privilege of handing over your hard-earned gold to free the lizards. Check aMap for which segments in particular were and were not added.

One of the ways you can attempt to save the caged kobolds, is by picking the lock on the pregnant girl's cage. This prompts Kobold Adventure's very first minigame, which may remind you of a certain game which takes place after the misadventures of a cat you may or may not know. You can see a preview of the minigame, in the youtube video above.

This minigame is planned to make multiple other appearances throughout Kobold Adventure. The difficulty is modified by both the kobold's luck (which gives you a larger timeframe to lock the tumblers in place), and its agility (which makes the tumblers move slower).

I've fiddled around with the difficulty of the minigame a bunch. This particular lock is of difficulty 40, out of 100; where 100 is the most difficult, and 1 is a cakewalk. Please do let me know if you think it's too hard, or too easy, down in the comments below. There will be a difficulty 100 lock at some point in the game, which will be pretty darn hard without the right stats.

New art has been added to the underground cave scene, courtesy of the same person who made the previous batch of cave-art. I hope you guys'll like it! Furthermore, the 3D Moedel is now available in .stl format for 3D-printing, and a VRChat-compatible version has also been prepared. You can find both of these on the fan art page.

And now for the surprise I was teasing in my last post (which some of you may already know about). Somewhere this week, we hit the $900 patreon goal, which is the creation of a Kobold Adventure merch store.

Well, guess what? Kobold Adventure now has an official merchandise store. You can buy various articles of clothing from here, depicting your favorite characters such as Green, Blue, Moe and Ruby. Over time, more designs and more types of things you can buy may be added. Proceeds from this store will directly help fund Kobold Adventure. Happy shopping!

As per usual, I am tired as all hell. The new update isn't very well tested, nor was it heavily proofread. Please report any bugs or types you might find, via the appropriate channels.

That's about all I have to say, for now.  I hope you'll enjoy the update, have fun with the minigame, and maybe even buy a shirt with Green or Blue on it. I'll whip up a post on what to do next tomorrow. Thank you for your continued interest in Kobold Adventure, and I'll see you next time, on scaly merchandise simulator 2019.

Regarding the lockpick mini game difficulty: To answer your question, it felt fair once my old Elder Scrolls: Oblivion memories kicked in XD

Is there a way to bypass this? It’s 100% impossible on mobile

TinkeringTurian

I've heard that it's *easier* on mobile, as opposed to *harder*. The alternative is to use a blunt weapon.
