Hey everyone, just a small update to progress of the demo and some general info.

The demo is coming together nicely and even though there is still a few days left before the vote ends, there is quite some things left that need to be done before I can release it in the state I wanted it to.

Rushing the last few sketches and changes so I could bug-test and release in time would only lower quality in the long run though.
I've did a lot of rushed stuff already and I think I should start taking it a bit slower and try to focus working on the things I have so far.

So instead of finishing the last few sketches and scenes,
I'll start bug-tests and problem-fixing now to make everything playable until the vote ends.

That means the demo won't be a 100% complete with the first upload, but I will work on those last few things that need to be done right after and update in time.

I'm also planning on creating a new site where I'm going to list every update + changelog to make it easier to find and download the latest version or simply check when it's worth playing/testing the next one.
I really want to put some more order and clarity into this so it's easier for you guys to give me feedback and for me to keep track of everything.

That's all for the demo so far and I hope you will like this whole website/more updates and clarity change.

I'm also going to post something like a roadmap later this month. (After uploading the demo and having poll results/even though those are probably pretty much set)
Just giving some information on what things will be added to the demo next, what's the next random animation and so on..

Alright, this was more text than it should have been..
Just let me know if you've got any questions/concerns!

Thanks for the update. Taking your time with the game is definitely the best approach. Rushing the demo out for the sake of it will only hurt the quality and introduce bugs that create more work down the line. A dedicated website seems like a good idea to keep everything nice and tidy. A bug reporting section could be helpful, so we can specify scenes with errors and maybe sort bugs into categories, from major game breaking stuff to minor spelling mistakes. A central place to give feedback and discuss the plot/story would be nice as well. As always, keep up the good work and I look forward to seeing more.

just take your time dark!, because if you rush to release the demo only gonna down the quality of the demo, so, feel free of take a break btw... And if you would make a new website only for the releases of dream molder, gonna put it more easier to me to check what's new on every upload :D, and how you know, I wanna have all the versions that you release of Dream Molder :3, I repeat, ALL the versions >:3.

Change logs? Roadmaps? new website? Those all sound like a great plan. I always appreciated the little box on your blog showing the current status of the project with numbers and progress bars, upgrading it to a more convenient website would be wonderful.

that would definitely make things nice. With a dedicated website and all. People might be more encouraged to participate in discussions and what not. As for the demo. Work at your pace and it’ll be done when it’s done. But Don’t sweat polishing the demo to much. Sniffing out unseen bugs is our job. Well, assuming patrons get access before the public to do the testing. That’s how I think it’ll go at least. I don’t think it matters. Either way I’m eager to break everything and see what needs fixing.

Just saw the update on your blog, hyped for more info and possibly the next playable demo :)

Yeah, I actually wanted to have the character sketch demo done when the poll ends but I'm at it for a while by now but I'm still not done fixing the worst bugs. :,D I pretty much gave up on releasing the demo today and probably get some rest for now. I'm still around for an hour, so if any of you guys can't wait any longer let me know and I'll upload the wip version in that time. The remaining bugs are mostly visual related. (misplaced or missing grafics, wrong message boxes or names, maybe some sounds/music that are too loud, etc..) But it should at least not get stuck or crash anymore and you can read through the story just fine.

Don’t worry about releasing it as soon as possible. As much as I’m looking forward to it, I’d rather wait for it to be properly ready. Thanks for all your hard work and dedication to this, just make sure not to overwork yourself.

I saw on your new site that the current Dream Molder Demo is version 4.0. I remember the last release on Patreon to be version 3.0. What changed since then?

InDarkWaters

I probably should have named it 3.1 since the only real change were some minor bug fixes which crashed the game/got it stuck. Had to recompile it for the new site and took use of that to make some fixes. (Even though there's still enough other bugs/mistakes that need changes) But yeah, no new content or anything. But I'm working on getting the Char Sketch Demo out.

I am with Sparky66 on this one. There's no need to rush anything. You're only going to gather unnecessary stress and end up releasing an faulty product. Take your time. Nobody is pressuring you. We can wait. It's going to end up better for everyone.
